Overnight closures planned for Lincoln roadworks

Drivers in Lincoln are being warned of overnight road closures to take place over the next two weeks. Work is ongoing to improve the eastern access to Tritton Road, which began on 22 April, for new housing development Charterholme. The City of Lincoln Council said contractors would be working overnight to install new traffic lights at the junction between Tritton Road and Dixon Street to ensure the Charterholme eastern access project remained on schedule to be completed in August. Roads will also be closed between 20:00 BST and 06:00 BST from Monday until Thursday and also on 27 and 28 May for resurfacing work. A new footpath along Tritton Road is open to the public and the construction of a new bridge over the railway is under way. Temporary traffic lights and a minor diversion will be in place during the work, the council has said. Maria Clayton, of City of Lincoln Council, said the overnight closures would "keep traffic flowing as smoothly as possible throughout the project". "The council and our contractors appreciate the continued support from residents and businesses during this time," Ms Clayton added. Three months of roadworks get under way in Lincoln

Motorists are being warned to expect road closures over the next three months in Lincoln. Work will be going on to improve the eastern access to Tritton Road for new housing development Charterholme. Traffic lights will be installed at the junction between Tritton Road and Dixon Street. Work will start on 22 April and is scheduled to last until August. Maria Clayton, of City of Lincoln Council, said the authority had tried to "cause the least amount of disruption to the road network to keep traffic moving". Overnight work at the junction of Tritton Road and Valentine Road will take place between 22 April and 25 April, from 20:00 BST until 06:00 BST. The council said the junction would remain open during that time, with a minor diversion in place.
