Sook village hit by floods 7 times within 4 months

SOOK: Kampung Kuala Punteh has been hit by floods seven times within just four months this year. A resident, Puan Mariam Sakai, said the seventh flood caused the SIB church to be submerged up to thigh level. 'This situation is difficult for the residents as they have to repeatedly clean up the flood damage,' she said. After the flood in early May, the villagers cleaned the interior of the church building and used it to conduct Sunday worship services. However, when floods struck again the interior was once more filled with mud.
