Good afternoon and welcome to our live blog for this Leinster Senior Hurling Championship clash between Wexford and Offaly. Offaly (-32) and with no points are all but resigned to a de facto final round relegation play off against Antrim. Wexford, with two points and a -2 scoring average, should be safe, unless they were to ship a heavy defeat here. They'll be looking up though, but they need Dublin to beat Kilkenny and then beat the Cats at home in the final round to draw level with them. They also need to improve that scoring average. Throw-in is at 5pm and we'll bring you live updates throughout the evening right here. The match is not being televised live, nor is it being steamed by GAA+.

Possibility of vandalism as Parnell Park pitch damaged with tie moved from venue
The Louth/Meath Leinster Under-20 Football Final has been moved out of Parnell Park with the Donnycarney venue requiring remedial work to the pitch. The surface on the pitch was heavily damaged for Dublin's Leinster round robin victory over Wexford on Saturday night. It appears a substantial amount of grass has died on the pitch with the possibility of vandalism and that the surface may have been damaged by chemicals spread around it. It is understood that soil samples have been sent away for testing with results pending. The state of the pitch was a major talking point afterward the Leinster hurling tie, along with Dublin's phantom goal from a penalty, which Wexford goalie Mark Fanning cleared off his line, but was awarded anway. Leinster GAA chiefs have taken swift action with the first installement of a Louth/Meath double header over the next fortnight moved to St. Conleth's Park Newbridge this Wednesday night. This is a repeat of last year's Leinster under-20 decider, which Meath won at Parnell Park. And with the sides set to meet at Croke Park in the Leinster senior decider in less than a fortnight, Wednesday night's Dalata Hotel Group under-20 tie should draw a big crowd to the Kildare venue. Last Tuesday night Fergal Reel's Louth dismissed Dublin at the Leinster semi-final stage for the second year in a row, winning at Darver, while Cathal Ó Bric's Meath were hugely impressive winners over Kildare at Donaghmore Ashbourne.

GAA fans fume at goal that ‘completely changed the game' during Wexford loss to Dublin but ‘didn't cross the line'
GAA FANS couldn't believe their eyes as Dublin were awarded a goal against Wexford - despite the sliotar appearing to have not crossed the line. The 3 Dublin scored a controversial penalty against Wexford Credit: David Fitzgerald/Sportsfile 3 Goalkeeper Mark Fanning got a touch on Sean Curries effort Credit: GAA+ 3 He appeared to stop the sliotar before it crossed the line only for the goal to be given Credit: GAA+ A pivotal moment came on 50 minutes when Dublin were awarded a penalty with the two sides level at 1-20 to 2-17. Sean Currie stepped up to take, with his strike drawing a fine save from Wexford goalkeeper Mark Fanning, with the sliotar squeaking towards the line. An overhead replay of the penalty appeared to show Fanning clawing the ball back before it crossed the line, only for the goal to be given. It drew a disbelieving response from fans, with one saying: "Massive momentum shift in the game. Read More on GAA A second fumed: "You have to feel for the @OfficialWexGAA keeper — brilliant save right on the line, only for the ref to give the goal. "Did everything right and still punished. Tough one to take. #dubwex #gaa" A third said: "The linesman starts to run for the flag and stops. Clearly he's not sure so why has he given it?" A fourth posted: "2 umpires and the ref all watching the line and the THREE OF THEM GAVE THE GOAL 😂😂😂" Most read in Sport A fifth said: "This changed the game. "Huge save from Fanning would have given Wexford a boost. Instead Dublin get the boost and in turn bury 3 goals in 5 minutes" RTE pundit Peter Canavan angers fans after leaving notable county out of his 'big four' All-Ireland contenders And a sixth said: "Completely and utterly changed the game. Wexford at sixes and sevens ever since" It was a game-changer because John Hetherton followed up soon after with 52nd and 54th minute goals to kill the contest. But Wexford manager Keith Rossiter said it was the wrong call for the Currie goal and argued that TV replays proved it. Asked about the ref's performance, Rossiter said: "I wouldn't be happy with it, to be dead honest with you. The biggest factor being the penalty not being over the line. That's massive. "And I thought Kevin Foley at a crucial stage of the game went back and won a ball and there was no way he could have thrown the ball, he hand-passed it off, yet he was done for a throw ball. "We made some poor decisions at times that we need to work on. But refereeing as a whole, wasn't happy with it. "When two umpires are able to tell Mark Fanning afterwards that the ball didn't cross the line, I don't know what the umpires are there for if that's the case, if you're not going to use them. "That's what I'm being told from Mark. I look at the video - the ball didn't cross the line. And I could see it from where I was, I didn't think it crossed the line."

Wexford boss Rossiter dismayed by awarding of Dublin goal after sliotar didn't appear to cross line
KEITH ROSSITER BELIEVES his Wexford team were victims of a couple of huge refereeing errors during their Leinster Senior Hurling Championship defeat to Dublin. Dublin levelled the game in the 50th minute with a Sean Currie goal from a penalty, though goalkeeper Mark Fanning initially blocked the shot and Wexford boss Rossiter was adamant the ball didn't go over the line. Rossiter also pointed to a free awarded minutes earlier against Kevin Foley for a thrown pass, which Currie also converted. In a game that Wexford lost by four points, Rossiter argued that they were important decisions that shouldn't have been given against his side, although he also acknowledged that Dublin may still have won without them. Advertisement Asked what went wrong in the second half for Wexford, who went from leading by three to a four-point loss, Rossiter cut a frustrated figure. 'I don't know if things went wrong,' he said. 'It was ding-dong there for a long time. If you're really asking me what went wrong, did you get a look at the penalty? You might have a look back at that and you'll see that it's a six-point swing. I wouldn't be happy with it at all. I'm not saying we'd have beaten Dublin, they're a good side, but those are the things that make a massive difference in a game like that, especially in Parnell Park. 'We were three up, we stopped a penalty, it doesn't cross the line, it's given. A six-point swing. It is what it is. What can we do only regroup and get ready to play Galway in Salthill but I wouldn't go along the lines of, 'What happened to us in the second-half?'' Asked how he felt the referee did overall in the game, Rossiter was again critical. 'I wouldn't be happy with it, to be dead honest with you, the biggest factor being the penalty not being over the line. That's massive. 'And I thought Kevin Foley at a crucial stage in the game went back and won the ball and there was no way he could have thrown the ball, he hand-passed it off, yet he was done for a throw. 'If you look at it the other way, there were a lot of throws not given. Look, we have a lot of work to do as well. Our defending at times was poor, they got in for a couple of goal opportunities at times without a hand being laid on them which we wouldn't be happy with. 'We made some poor decisions at times which we need to work on. But refereeing as a whole, no, wasn't happy with it. When two umpires are able to tell Mark Fanning afterwards that the ball didn't cross the line, I don't know what the umpires are there for if that's the case, if you're not going to use them. 'That's what I'm being told. I looked at the video, the ball didn't cross the line. I could see it from where I was, I didn't think it crossed the line.' Dublin manager Niall O Ceallachain focused on the performance of Man of the Match John Hetherton who struck 2-3 and gave perhaps his best display yet for Dublin. 'He was brilliant and we felt he could do that sort of damage on a day like today,' said O Ceallachain. 'The challenge for Hedgo now is that we need the same in two weeks' time, in three weeks' time, in four weeks' time.'

John Hetherton's goals help Dublin to victory over Wexford
Leinster SHC: Dublin 3-26 Wexford 4-19 Upon tight calls are Championship games won and lost. Exhibit A, Sean Currie's goal for Dublin from a 50th-minute penalty which levelled the game and gave the hosts the confidence to strike two more shortly after. Powerful full forward John Hetherton hit both of those latter goals, in the 52nd and 54th minutes, to set the seal on back-to-wins in the Leinster SHC. READ MORE Dublin are now top of the round robin table, for a while at least, and with Wexford 's scalp taken they will fancy their chances of at least a top-three finish. Wexford manager Keith Rossiter, however, was seething about the penalty which swung the game, claiming that the ball didn't actually cross the line after Currie's shot was blocked by goalkeeper Mark Fanning. Rossiter said he was not happy with referee Michael Kennedy's performance overall, noting a couple of other big calls that went Dublin's way, though the penalty particularly bothered him. 'We were three up, we stopped a penalty, the ball doesn't cross the line but it's given,' said Rossiter. Drama in Dublin v Wexford. The penalty was given but the sliotar never crossed the line 😮 — Craic Of The Ash (@CraicOfTheAsh) 'The refereeing as a whole, wasn't happy with it. 'That's what I'm being told from Mark. And I looked at the video, the ball didn't cross the line. I could see it from where I was, I didn't think it crossed the line. Just not happy with it at all.' Dublin have testing away trips to Antrim and Kilkenny to come, before wrapping up against Galway back at Parnell Park. Wexford will attempt to pick up the pieces in Round 3 against Galway. They'll wonder just how this game escaped them because they led 2-11 to 0-16 at half-time thanks to goals from Rory O'Connor and Cian Byrne. And they were three clear midway through the second-half after Cathal Dunbar's goal before the crucial penalty decision which went Dublin's way. Captain Lee Chin struck a fourth goal for Wexford at the death but it was only consolation at that stage.
