Sending blessings and good vibes your way ❤️', 'I hope youre doing well @markusmoments, havent heard from you for a very long time. Take care always', 'Wow its been a year'. At the end of Mark's video, he said: 'I've been receiving a lot of positivity online and as much as I've been on a bit of a social media detox, I have jumped on a couple of times and I just wanted to say a huge heartfelt thank you for all of the amazing messages.' Following their formation in 1998, Mark enjoyed huge success with Nicky, Shane , and Kian, before taking a step back in February 2024 due to his ill health. In a lengthy post, Westlife penned: 'To our amazing fans, We would like to take this opportunity to share some very important news with you all. 'We are thrilled to announce the launch of our 25th Anniversary celebrations... On the 9th February 2001 we kicked off our first ever tour at the Newcastle Arena. Who would have thought we would still be here 25 years later? 'We have so many exciting plans to share with you very soon which will include new music, an album, special shows and many, many more surprises along the way. 'Sadly, Mark will be unable to join the celebrations. We hope he can join us back on stage when he is ready and able. He sends his love and positivity to you all as always. 'The four of us can't quite believe its been 25 years. We could only have dreamt of the continued love and loyalty you have consistently shown us around the world. 'We are so lucky to have all of you with us and we can't wait to celebrate together! Happy 25th To Us All! Love, Kian, Mark, Nicky & Shane x.' MailOnline has contacted Westlife and Mark's representatives for comment. Last year, Mark announced his temporary departure from the Irish boyband, just days before they were set to embark on their first ever tour of America. Prolonged ill-health resulted in the singer withdrawing from the band in a bid to recover after being diagnosed with sepsis. Taking to Instagram at the time, he wrote: 'Hello and much love to you all! It's Mark here.. Most of you are aware that I have had some health challenges over the past while. 'It actually all started 3.5 years ago in August 2020 when I had surgery. Within a few days of this surgery I was in severe pain and was rushed into A&E. 'I eventually ended that awful day in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where I was informed that due to a complication with the surgery, I had developed severe 'Sepsis', a life-threatening infection that would require immediate emergency surgery to rectify the problem and basically save my life.' He added: 'I spent the next few months in hospital. It was during lockdown. For months, due to strict Covid restrictions, I was not allowed any visitors including my fiance and my then 10-month-old daughter. 'It was physically and mentally a very difficult time, not to mention traumatic having to spend so long in ICU. 'In late 2021, I became very ill in Newcastle before a concert and ended up back in A&E, this time being told I had pneumonia. I was told I had to go straight home to recover and regrettably miss the rest of the concerts that December. 'I was referred to a consultant who told me I needed more surgery which I went ahead with in May 2022 meaning I was forced to miss more of The Wild Dreams tour. 'Three months after that surgery, I tried my best to soldier on for you guys and to go back on tour but unfortunately the physical demands of the concerts and extensive travel were proving too much for me. 'I developed a very large 'incisional hernia' and I was told that I needed further surgery to fix it. This would be my fourth major surgery since the start of it all, but I had no option.' 'I developed a very large 'incisional hernia' and I was told that I needed further surgery to fix it. This would be my fourth major surgery since the start of it all, but I had no option.' Confirming his temporary hiatus from the band, he added: 'It is with the upmost level of regret that I must now temporarily stand down from all Westlife touring until a time ote: that I have had the chance to fully recover from the turbulent journey I have been through as an individual. 'Believe me, I wish things could be different! I would like to thank you so very much for your support and understanding of me and my health over the past few years.' Sepsis is a life-threatening condition caused when the body releases chemicals to fight an infection. These chemicals damage the body's own tissues and organs and can lead to shock, organ failure and death. Organ failure and death are more likely if sepsis is not recognised early and treated immediately. Mark's exit from the group came after a string of health woes in recent years, with the singer forced to drop out of Westlife's summer shows in May 2024. WHAT IS SEPSIS? Sepsis occurs when the body reacts to an infection by attacking its own organs and tissues. Some 44,000 people die from sepsis every year in the UK. Worldwide, someone dies from the condition every 3.5 seconds. Sepsis has similar symptoms to flu, gastroenteritis and a chest infection. These include: Slurred speech or confusion Extreme shivering or muscle pain Passing no urine in a day Severe breathlessness It feels like you are dying Skin mottled or discoloured Symptoms in children are: Fast breathing Fits or convulsions Mottled, bluish or pale skin Rashes that do not fade when pressed Lethargy Feeling abnormally cold Under fives may be vomiting repeatedly, not feeding or not urinating for 12 hours. Anyone can develop sepsis but it is most common in people who have recently had surgery, have a urinary catheter or have stayed in hospital for a long time. Other at-risk people include those with weak immune systems, chemotherapy patients, pregnant women, the elderly and the very young. Treatment varies depending on the site of the infection but involves antibiotics, IV fluids and oxygen, if necessary.

Fears for Westlife star, not seen for a year, as group announce reunion without him

A beloved pop star will miss his group's 25th anniversary as fears grow for his wellbeing. The singer was last seen a year ago and will be 'unable to join the celebrations'. Westlife formed in 1998, and kicked off their first ever world tour, Where Dreams Come True Tour, at the Newcastle Arena on February 9, 2001. The Irish lads – Brian McFadden, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan – went on to release 12 studio albums and had a huge 14 number one UK hit singles. Brian left in 2004. Now to mark the special tour milestone, the remaining boyband members have launched their 25th anniversary celebrations. But Kian, Nicky, and Shane will have to celebrate without Mark. It's been a year since Mark's last interaction with fans, where he posted a video saying 'Happy pride month everybody.' In February 28, 2024, Mark announced he had to pull out of ALL shows to 'fully recover' after undergoing surgery. The star said the 'physical demands' of the concerts and extensive travel proved 'too much' for him and so he would 'temporarily stand down from all Westlife touring'. The dad-of-one opened up on his secret surgery hell, telling fans how he's gone under the knife for the fourth time since 2020 after medics found a 'very large incisional hernia'. During those four years, the singer battled pneumonia as well as sepsis – a crippling infection that can be fatal. Fellow Westlife band members Nicky, Shane and Kian broke their silence at the time to reveal they 'completely respect' dad-of-one Mark's decision. Now they have shared that Mark will be missing from the tour again as they posted a statement to Instagram Titled Westlife 25, it read: 'To our amazing fans, 'We would like to take this opportunity to share some very important news with you all. 'We are thrilled to announce the launch of our 25th Anniversary celebrations …' It continued: 'Who would have thought we would still be here 25 years later? 'We have so many exciting plans to share with you very soon which will include new music, an album, special shows and many, many more surprises along the way.' The notice then added: 'Sadly, Mark will be unable to join the celebrations. 'We hope he can join us back on stage when he is ready and able. 'He sends his love and positivity to you all as always. 'The four of us can't quite believe it's been 25 years. 'We could only have dreamt of the continued love and loyalty you have consistently with shown us around the world. 'We are so lucky to have all of you with us and we can't wait to celebrate together.' In the comments, fans were devastated with one person writing: 'Love you guys … BUT, westlife isn't westlife without Mark. 3 just don't cut it.' A second said: 'I don't know whether to cry with happiness that you're finally coming back for your 25th year anniv or sob at the fact that mark won't be joining you to celebrate it. I'm so overwhelmed …' A third penned: 'Sending a huge love to @markusmoments we really hope that he is OK! 'We love you Mark! And amazing news boys! We can't wait for all these new things come on our way! Much love!' Someone else echoed: 'What happened to Mark? 'I remember reading that he was going to have surgery, but that was about two years ago. I'll be hoping and praying for his recovery!'

Westlife star missing from shows as band share ‘important news'

Westlife have confirmed that band member Mark Feehily will not be taking part in a series of 'special shows' to mark their 25th anniversary. In a statement to X/Twitter posted on Wednesday evening (11 June), the Nineties boyband formed of Feehily, Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan aid they were 'thrilled' to announce the launch of their 25th anniversary celebrations. 'On [9 February 2001] we kicked off our first ever world tour at the Newcastle Arena,' they said. 'Who would have thought we would still be here 25 years later? 'We have so many exciting plans to share with you very soon, which will include new music, an album, special shows and many, many more surprises along the way.' The statement continued: 'Sadly, Mark will be unable to join the celebrations. We hope he can join us back on stage when he is ready and able. He sends his love and positivity to you all as always.' Westlife said the four of them struggled to believe it had been 25 years since their first world tour. 'We could only have dreamt of the continued love and loyalty you have consistently shown us around the world,' the band said. 'We are so lucky to have all of you with us and we can't wait to celebrate together. Happy 25th to us all!' Feehily, 48, stepped back from the group in February last year due to health issues and has remained out of the public eye since then. In a lengthy post, the musician said that his 'challenges' had begun in August 2020 while undergoing an unspecified surgery. Due to complications from the surgery, Feehily contracted sepsis, a dangerous infection that required emergency surgery and a longer stay in the hospital. 'It was physically and mentally a very difficult time,' he explained, noting that due to Covid restrictions at the time, he was unable to receive visitors, including from his fiancée and their 10-month-old daughter. Feehily said he then developed a hernia during the tour, resulting in his fourth major surgery since the start of his health problems. This prompted him to take the difficult decision to step back from the tour in order to fully recover. 'For now, I have to make the right decision for my health and wellbeing, for my family, and for myself as a person,' he said. 'Please don't worry… I will see you very soon, beautiful people! WESTLIFE FOREVER!'
