Highlights Mann West – successful final three holes, Mann West initial resource to be published in June 0.33% nickel over 52 metres within 480 metres of 0.27% nickel in hole MAN24-65 Reid – successful infill drilling program to support an updated resource by year-end 2025 0.27% nickel over 711 metres including 0.45% nickel over 39 metres within 0.37% nickel over 120 metres in REI24-70 Deloro – successful infill drilling with shallow overburden to support updated resource by year-end 2025 0.38% nickel over 48 metres within 347 metres of 0.26% nickel in hole DEL24-35, with mineralization starting at 6 metres below surface TORONTO, May 28, 2025 /CNW/ - Canada Nickel Company Inc. (" Canada Nickel" or the " Company") (TSXV: CNC) (OTCQX: CNIKF) is pleased to announce additional exploration drilling results from the Reid, Mann West and Deloro properties. CEO Mark Selby said, "The Timmins Nickel District continues to deliver excellent exploration results from Reid, Mann West and Deloro. We look forward to initial resources from three of our projects (Mann West, Mann Central, and Texmont) in June 2025. The results from Reid continue to show impressive continuity for both the overall mineralization and higher-grade zones, and Deloro continues to deliver excellent intervals with shallow overburden. The results will support conversion of potential resources at both projects, and we expect to publish updated resources by year-end 2025. I am excited by our ongoing and clear demonstration of the potential of the Timmins Nickel District, with six resources to be published by the end of June and three additional resources to be published through the remainder of 2025." Reid Project Highlights: 0.27% nickel over 711 metres, including 0.45% nickel over 39 metres within 0.37% nickel over 120 metres in REI25-70 0.27% nickel over 620.0 metres, including 0.38% nickel over 21.0 metres within 178.0 metres of 0.30% in REI24-59 The initial mineral resource for Reid was published in late 2024 by Canada Nickel (see news release dated December 23, 2024). Since that time, drilling has continued with the goal of adding to the resource in the Measured, Indicated and Inferred categories. Assays from the last three drillholes of the 2024 campaign are presented here (see Table 1 and Figure 1). Reid is a large serpentinized ultramafic consisting mainly of dunite and minor peridotite with multiple intervals of higher-grade nickel mineralization. Near the centre of the intrusion is the "Central Dyke Corridor" which has slightly lower grades of nickel that are interrupted by north-south oriented dykes. Twenty-eight additional drillholes were completed in the spring of 2025 at Reid, with eight drillholes presented in this release. These holes all intersected long mineralized intervals comprised mainly of dunite and minor peridotite. REI24-59 and REI25-70 were both drilled in the western half of the geophysical target where it intersected higher grade nickel mineralization, confirming the continuity on strike of one higher grade horizon that is oriented west-northwest to east-southeast. Drilling through the Central Dyke Corridor encountered thick intervals of mineralization including REI25-68 which intersected 0.28% nickel over 471.6 metres. Twenty drillholes remain to be released with assays pending. Table 1 – Reid drilling highlights *True width undetermined. All lengths are drillhole lengths. Mann Property The Mann property is located 22 kilometres east of Crawford between Timmins and Cochrane, and is 80% owned by Canada Nickel and 20% by Noble Mineral Exploration through a company called East Timmins Nickel Ltd. The property hosts four separate targets: Mann North, Mann West, Mann Central and Mann South. Mann West Highlights: 0.33% nickel over 52 metres within 480 metres of 0.27% nickel in hole MAN24-65 Mann West is approximately 3.5 kilometres long by up to 1.1 kilometres wide (covering 3.4 square kilometres). Drilling focused on the southern half of the target and is now completed over a strike length of 1.7 kilometres and a width of at least 600 metres. The most recent drilling intersected long sections of well-serpentinized peridotite and minor dunite with disseminated and visible nickel sulphide mineralization consisting primarily of pentlandite and heazlewoodite. The Company has drilled a total of 39 holes at Mann West, 31 of which were drilled during the 2024 campaign (Figure 2). The company is currently working on an initial resource estimate expected in June 2025. Assays from the last three holes are presented in this release (Table 2). Table 2 – Mann West drilling highlights *True width undetermined. All lengths are drillhole lengths. Deloro Property Highlights: 0.38% nickel over 48 metres within 347 metres of 0.26% nickel in hole DEL24-35, with mineralization starting at 6 metres below surface 0.26% nickel over 411.0 metres in hole DEL24-40, with mineralization starting only 2 metres below surface The Company produced the first resource for the Deloro property in the summer of 2024 (see July 18, 2024 news release). Deloro shows consistent mineralization within the dunite and peridotite units, with thin overburden throughout the target, as seen in drillhole DEL24-40 with mineralization starting only 2 metres below surface. In the late fall of 2024, Canada Nickel drilled an additional 21 holes to infill and upgrade the existing resource. This release presents results for four drillholes (Table 3), with only one drillhole remaining. A resource update for Deloro is expected by end of year 2025. The 10 greatest graduates from Q School as latest hopefuls attend class

There have been and remain multiple routes onto the professional snooker tour, with Q School a well-trodden path since being established in 2011. Amateur players battle it out in stressful, intense tournaments with the winners booking a spot on the World Snooker Tour for the next two seasons, while those who fall short have to play their snooker elsewhere. Players who have been on the pro tour since before 2011 have never had to face the pressure of Q School to keep their careers alive, so you won't have seen the likes of Judd Trump, Ronnie O'Sullivan or Mark Selby scrapping it out for their tour cards. That is not to say that Q School has not seen plenty of fantastic players over the years, though, with a number winning their places on tour and going on to win ranking events. For the following list of the greatest graduates from Q School, they are being judged on what they have achieved since their graduations. The likes of Fergal O'Brien, Joe Swail and Andy Hicks came back onto tour through Q School later in their careers, but their glory days were long before those times. But there are plenty who have earned their place on tour through Q School and gone on to great things, so any players lining up in Leicester this week can be inspired by these 10 names. In one of the biggest surprises in snooker history, Jordan Brown won the 2021 Welsh Open, beating Ronnie O'Sullivan in the final after downing Mark Selby and Stephen Maguire on his way to the showpiece. Just one ranking semi has followed that, which will disappoint the Northern Irishman, but what a win to have on his CV. Still just 23 years old, Jackson Page secured a brilliant piece of snooker history last month when he became the first player to make two 147s in the same match, doing so in World Championship qualifying. The Welshman reached his first ranking final this season and is continuing to make his way up the rankings as one of the brightest young British hopes. Similar to Brown's shock win, Fan Zhengyi pulled off a wild result by winning the 2022 European Masters, beating O'Sullivan in the final. He also hasn't followed it up with more success but the Chinese is still only 24 and has shown more good flashes, including a run to the Champion of Champions semis. Lei Peifan made a huge name for himself last season, firstly by winning the Scottish Open and then by beating defending champion Kyren Wilson at the Crucible. The 21-year-old has not done a great deal else yet as a professional, but if those two performances are anything to go by there is a lot more to come. The first player on this list to have reached the world's top 16, Jak Jones is also the first to have made it to a World Championship final. His run to the Crucible Showpiece in 2024 was his career highlight so far and his challenge now is to bring his Sheffield game to the rest of the tour, having not been to any other final as yet. Chris Wakelin has enjoyed a brilliant and much-improved two-and-a-half years on tour, stepping up at least one level from where he stood before. Winning the Shoot Out in 2023 remains his only ranking title, but finals of the Northern Ireland Open and International Championship have followed, as has a Masters debut and a run to the quarter-finals at the Crucible this year. One of the great rising talents in the game, but one who is yet to get his hands on any silverware, despite coming close. Si Jiahui has been to two ranking finals and the semi-finals of the World Championship and Saudi Arabia Masters, with a trophy for the 22-year-old seeming only a matter of time. In Gloucester back in 2014 Zhang Anda came through Q School and after years of not making many waves, he made his splash in the 2023/24 season. Zhang won the International Championship and reached the finals of the English Open and Players Championship, soaring into the top 16 in the process. Dave Gilbert had been on tour but fell off in 2011 and needed Q School to bounce straight back, just, losing in the first two finals before winning Event 3. Since then he has been to five ranking finals, winning one of them, two World Championship and two Masters semis, reaching a high of number 10 in the world. If any Q School hopeful this year needs some inspiration then look no further than the reigning world champion as Zhao Xintong graduated at the Meadowside Leisure Centre, Burton-upon-Trent in 2018. More Trending The Cyclone won the UK Championship in 2021 and German Masters in '22 before being banned from the sport only to return and conquer the Crucible this month, seven years on from beating Dechawat Poomjaeng to win Q School Event 2 in Burton. Honorary mentions go to the only future ranking event winner to come through Q School and not make this list, Michael Georgiou, and to Elliot Slessor who narrowly missed out on the top 10 because he's very good but is yet to reach a ranking final. UK Q School this year begins on Wednesday May 21 with 171 players competing to claim just eight tour cards. Humbled former world champion Mark Selby reveals moment he was told he had ‘saved the life' of anguished snooker fan

MARK SELBY was told he 'saved' the life of an anguished woman who decided not to kill herself after she heard the snooker ace speak publicly about his own mental health demons. The four-time world champion, 41, has had many trials and tribulations off the baize and takes prescribed medication to combat his inner turmoil. 3 3 A year ago, Selby reached a low ebb, telling SunSport that his 'head has been like a circus' as wife Vikki underwent radiotherapy for breast cancer. Around the same time, a close family friend had passed away, at the age of 44, when cancer spread to other parts of her body. In the past, Selby had decided to keep his issues private, not telling anyone outside of his close circle of family and friends. But his decision a few years ago to make everything public – he issued an emotional statement on social media in 2022 about his woes – had helped him through the dark periods. And last month, the day before the start of the World Championship, the Leicester Jester was stopped by a fan, who bravely told him that his previous comments about his troubles had stopped her committing suicide. The remarkable conversation happened as players walked along a green carpet on Good Friday outside of the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. Selby explained: 'I was doing a few autographs and pictures. And this girl came up to me, bless her. 'She only must have been in her mid-20s. She said: 'Mark, can I just say something to you?' 'Of course, I said. She replied: 'I just want to say, I tried to take my own life a little while ago and hearing you speak out made me realise there's more to life – and you can get on.' 'So, that was quite emotional and touching, knowing that you have helped someone – because you never know what's going on behind closed doors. 3 'If you can help one person, that girl for example, that obviously makes it worthwhile, me speaking out. It basically saved her life. 'There's a lot more people going through it than what you think. And I was one of them. 'I put on a mask for so many years and people probably looked at me and thought I seemed like the happiest person in the world. 'You put a front on when you're out there and then when you're behind it all, you're a different person.' Selby ended up losing in the first round of the Worlds to hometown rival Ben Woollaston last month but as disappointed as he was at the time, he knows it is only a game of snooker. This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and Selby is a big advocate of his sport doing more to help those who are struggling away from the balls. Selby and seven-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan had a fascinating chat live on TNT Sports during the Masters in January. During their on-air talk they discussed the prospect of a full-time psychologist being on hand backstage to listen to any players that need to urgently talk. The world No.7 added: 'It's definitely a good idea. It's whether we can make that happen. 'Whoever the guy is, they'll have to get funded, so it'll have to come out of somebody's pocket. In individual sports, if you aren't in the right head space, chances are you won't win. We travel in and out of airports, to hotels... snooker can be a lonely place. 'There will be a lot more players struggling than what we think. It's difficult to speak out at times. 'People feel like they can't. Having that person in the corner, whereas it's just 15-20 minutes, somebody to go off to talk to. 'Ronnie was saying maybe you could book a slot, a bit like you can do with a practice table. 'In football, you've got the other 10 guys who bring you along. Even if you are feeling down, the team could still win. 'Whereas in individual sports, if you aren't in the right head space, chances are you won't win. 'We travel here, there and everywhere, in and out of airports, to hotels. If you're on your own all the time, snooker can be a lonely place. 'Especially if you're going through a bad patch, where you aren't winning games. "You're literally going there, getting beaten, going home. It's tough mentally and physically.'
