A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man died following an alleged attack in a pub beer garden. Police were called to the Market Inn in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, at around 9.10pm on Sunday, June 8, after reports of a serious assault. ‌ A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital with severe injuries but tragically died two days later on Tuesday, June 10, despite frantic efforts from emergency services to save him. ‌ A 30-year-old man was arrested the following day on suspicion of murder, and a 51-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. A third person, a 31-year-old man who had earlier been arrested on suspicion of affray, has since been released with no further action. Officers carried out extensive inquiries, including trawling through CCTV footage, before making arrests. They confirmed no weapons are beloeved to have been used in the incident. Police are urging witnesses to come forward for more information on the events that unfolded on Sunday night. ‌ Detective Inspector Matt Scott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "I'd firstly like to pass on my sincere condolences to the victim's family and loved ones. "They are currently being supported by specially trained officers through what must be an incredibly distressing time.
