Budapest Airport: New flights from Shymkent with SCAT Airlines

Budapest Airport launches SCAT Airlines' direct flights to Shymkent, strengthening Central Asia connections, boosting tourism, trade, and regional network expansion. Budapest Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, celebrates the exciting launch of a new non-stop flight to Shymkent, Kazakhstan, operated by SCAT Airlines. The twice-weekly service, which officially begins today, connects Budapest with one of Kazakhstan's key economic and cultural hubs, adding a new airline, destination, and country to the airport's ever-expanding network. The route will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with SCAT Airlines using its modern Boeing 737 MAX 8200. This new route represents a major milestone in Budapest Airport's efforts to strengthen its presence in Central Asia, creating fresh opportunities for tourism, business, and trade between Hungary and Kazakhstan. By providing direct, non-stop access to Shymkent, it further underscores Budapest's growing role in linking Europe with key cities across the region. 'We are thrilled to welcome SCAT Airlines and celebrate the launch of this direct route to Shymkent,' said Markus Klaushofer, CCO, Budapest Airport. 'This new service not only strengthens our network but also opens up valuable travel opportunities for both business and leisure passengers.' Budapest Airport is the Best Airport in the Region, as recognised by Skytrax for 12 consecutive years from 2014 to 2025, based on passenger ratings. The Airport became a leading airport in terms of passenger growth and together with its airline partners, is a key contributor to the development of tourism in Hungary and Budapest. VINCI Airports, as the leading private airport operator in the world, manages the development and operation of more than 70 airports located in 14 countries. VINCI Airports draws on its expertise as a comprehensive integrator to develop, finance, build and operate airports, leveraging its investment capability and know-how to optimise operational performance and modernise infrastructure, while bringing about their environmental transition.
