Albuquerque man sentenced in federal firearms case
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, in August 2023 Marlando Martinez violently assaulted his pregnant partner and threatened her with a loaded rifle.

They say Bernalillo County Sheriff's deputies were called after the victim escaped to a neighbors home. Deputies found the victim with visible injures. She told authorities Martinez had punched her, hit her with a whip, choked her and fired a rifle near her face. Martinez was arrested and after a search of his home turned up multiple guns and ammunition he was charged federally with being a felon in possession of a firearm. Wednesday Martinez was sentenced to 84 months in federal prison.
