Clyde boss says 'season ended too early' after thrashing champions Peterhead
Darren Young led the Bully Wee to an impressive seventh-placed finish
Darren Young says the season has ended too early for Clyde after stunning League Two champions Peterhead with a 6-1 battering at New Douglas Park in their season finale.
The Bully Wee have scored 10 goals in their last two games to climb above Stranraer and finish seventh.
Marley Redfern got Clyde off the mark in nine minutes and Darren Hynes doubled their lead on the half-hour.
Oliver Colloty pulled a goal back for Peterhead sixty seconds later, but Logan Dunachie restored Clyde's two-goal lead in stoppage time.
Jamie Bradley added a fourth two minutes into the second half, Robbie Leitch bagged the fifth in 83 minutes, and Dom Docherty completed the rout in the last minute.
Young said: 'Every single player stood up and were counted, and the season is finishing too soon – we've scored 10 goals in the last two games.
'I think we've threatened to do that to teams. Some of our passing was outstanding, Peterhead couldn't get near us.
'It was absolutely outstanding from start to finish, and it was the same last week against Stirling Albion.
'To score six goals against the champions – they made a lot of changes but a lot of those players have played in League One and Two, and we still needed to put on a show for the fans.
'It's brilliant. Getting that first goal, they have to come out and you can exploit opportunities.'
