WEST LAFAYETTE − Purdue football is bringing a former four-star offensive lineman closer to home. Marques Easley, who was a standout at Kankakee (Illinois) High School, is transferring to the Boilermakers from Georgia, it was announced Saturday. Easley is the seventh player in the past two seasons to transfer to from Georgia to Purdue and third this spring. He joins receivers Nitro Tuggle and Michael Jackson III to make the move since the conclusion of spring camp. Easley was rated a four-star offensive tackle out of high school by 247Sports, ranked No. 161 nationally overall in the 2024 class and as the 14th best tackle. Need a break? Georgia Bulldogs Football Player Suspended After Crashing His Muscle Car

Read the full story on Backfire News Yet another Georgia Bulldogs college football player is in hot water after being involved in a big car crash. This time it was offensive lineman Marques Easley who plowed a Dodge Challenger into another vehicle and almost hit the front door of a house in Athens, Georgia. He's lucky he didn't kill anyone, including poor Challenger clearly has extensive front and rear damage in a photo of the crash aftermath. Not only did Easley hit the car that was parked in the driveway late on the night of March 17, he also ripped an electrical box out of the ground. To pull that off, he had to have been going at a pretty good clip in the Mopar muscle car. Our understanding is those boxes are pretty tightly anchored to the ground, just in case something like this happens. While Easley is probably going to be facing some sort of legal consequence for the crash, the Georgia football program has already suspended him indefinitely. The incident leaves yet another blemish on the program's already tarnished reputation with the community. According to a report from Sports Illustrated, quite a few Bulldog players have been involved in driving-related incidents recently. In fact, it claims since January 2023, so a little over two years, there have been a total of 24 incidents. Just what's going on in Athens, Georgia? Why do so many players from the program have such a need for speed? Another Bulldogs football player was recently suspended from the team indefinitely, wide receiver Nitro Tuggle. He was arrested for speeding and driving recklessly. Image via NFL_DonKleiman/X

He was charged with reckless conduct and reckless driving. According to the report, Easley's 2021 Dodge Challenger lost control and left the roadway where it first struck a power box and two other cars. He told officers that he was going between 25 and 30 miles per hour, but investigators say tire marks and other evidence instead point to him 'laying drag.'
