Evansville man arrested for allegedly raping two women
HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – An Evansville man is facing two counts of rape involving two different women.
According to an affidavit, a detective with Evansville Police talked with a victim at Holly's House where she said on the night of January 28, she was having some drinks with another woman.
The detective learned that they allegedly agreed to go to a male's house they met via Snapchat. The male was later identified as Martez Wilkes, 24.
The detective also reportedly learned that both women gave very similar testimonies in which forceable sexual actions were made from Wilkes to the women.
Wilkes allegedly declined to speak with authorities and requested an attorney.
An affidavit says Wilkes was also arrested in September 2024.
Wilkes made an appearance in court Thursday afternoon. During the hearing, he maintained his innocence. His next court date is scheduled for May 8 at 9 a.m.
