Israeli forces in Gaza kill 6 Palestinians seeking aid, health officials say
Local health officials said Israeli forces killed six Palestinians near an aid distribution center in southern Gaza on Saturday night, the fourth such incident in a week. The Palestinians were killed in west Rafah 'as citizens gathered in the hope of receiving aid near the distribution point,' according to Marwan Al-Hams, director of field hospitals for the Palestinian Health Ministry. None of the victims have been identified at this time. NBC News was not immediately able to verify the number of casualties. The World Health Organization has said it considers the Health Ministry's data reliable. In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces acknowledged the incident, saying that troops fired 'warning shots' on 'several suspects' in the Tel al-Sultan refugee camp who they felt posed a threat. 'Despite prior warnings that the area is an active combat zone during nighttime hours, several suspects attempted to approach IDF troops operating in the Tel al-Sultan area overnight, in a manner that posed a threat to the troops,' the IDF said. 'The troops called out to the suspects to drive them away, but as they continued advancing in a way that endangered the troops, the soldiers responded with warning shots.' The IDF did not specify what threat the 'suspects' posed and did not take accountability for the reported deaths, but said it 'is aware of the reports of casualties.' This is the fourth incident in a week where local health officials said Palestinians were killed near aid distribution centers. On Sunday, more than 30 people were killed in Rafah and hundreds were injured, according to local health officials and aid workers. Speaking with NBC News' crew on the ground, four witnesses said they came under fire from the air and on the ground while they were waiting to collect aid near a distribution site. An Israeli military official told NBC News that troops fired 'warning shots' at 'several suspects' about a half-mile from the aid distribution center, calling reports of casualties at the site 'false claims.' On Monday, three Palestinians were killed and dozens of others were injured when Israeli forces opened fire at a food distribution site in Rafah, Gaza health officials said. The next day, at least 27 people were killed in the early morning after IDF troops opened fire near an aid distribution point in Rafah, according to local health officials. More than 160 others were injured, including a 5-year-old girl. Video captured by NBC News' crew on the ground showed people, some dead and others wounded, being rushed to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. The IDF said its troops fired 'warning fire' at people who they believed posed a threat to them about 0.3 miles from an aid distribution site in Rafah, adding that it was aware of and looking into reports of casualties. It did not elaborate on what threat those people posed.

Director of Gaza Field Hospitals: "Zionist enemy kills child every 40 minutes"
Gaza - Saba: Marwan Al-Hams, Director General of Field Hospitals in Gaza, revealed that more than 16,000 children have been martyred in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Zionist genocide crime on October 7, 2023. During a press conference on Monday, Al-Hams stated that this means a child has been martyred every 40 minutes over the past 17 months. He added that 908 Palestinian children were killed before reaching their first birthday, while 311 others were born and later martyred during the Zionist genocide in Gaza. Al-Hams highlighted documented cases of Palestinian children being killed while attempting to obtain food rations from charity kitchens, targeted by direct Zionist army shelling. He emphasized that the Zionist siege and the closure of crossings for over two months have severely worsened health conditions, with primary healthcare centers shut down due to bombardment or their location in evacuation zones. This has deprived thousands of children and pregnant women of essential medical care. Al-Hams noted that 51% of medicines related to women's and children's health are now unavailable, particularly nutritional supplements, vitamins, vaccines, and infant formula. He also pointed out that polio vaccines remain blocked from entry, threatening to undermine the preventive efforts made by the Health Ministry. Al-Hams added that relying on a single inadequate meal per day has caused severe malnutrition and wasting among many children, "while they are deprived of safe drinking water and nutritious food due to the enemy's targeting of infrastructure and blocking of humanitarian aid." For the 49th consecutive day, the Israeli enemy forces continue their genocide and starvation campaign against civilians in Gaza, alongside a suffocating siege, with all crossings closed , medicine, humanitarian aid, and food supplies prohibited from entering. Gaza Health Ministry warns of mass deaths among wounded & patients in Gaza
Gaza – Saba: The Palestinian Health Ministry warned on Saturday of massive fatalities among the wounded and sick in Gaza Strip within one to three months, stressing that the healthcare system will face successive collapses during this period. In a press statement on Saturday, Marwan Al-Hams, Director of Field Hospitals in Gaza, confirmed that these deaths will occur if the Zionist enemy continues its attacks on hospitals, tightens the blockade, closes crossings, prevents the entry of humanitarian and medical aid. Al-Hams stated that hospital occupancy rates in Gaza have reached 150% due to the overwhelming number of daily casualties after 40 days of resumed genocidal war on the Strip. According to Al-Hams, the healthcare system is forced to prioritize patients for treatment and medical care, while rationing electricity, medicine, and available medical supplies to delay total collapse. He noted that the crisis facing hospitals and medical facilities has worsened since the Zionist enemy's decision on March 2 to close crossings and block humanitarian aid, including medical supplies.
