Evan Johnson scores 17 to lead Maryland Eastern Shore over Coppin State 72-59

BALTIMORE (AP) — Evan Johnson scored 17 points to lead Maryland Eastern Shore to a 72-59 victory over Coppin State on Monday night. Johnson shot 4 of 10 from the field, including 3 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 6 for 7 from the line for the Hawks (6-23, 2-11 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Cardell Bailey shot 5 for 10, including 4 for 6 from beyond the arc to add 16 points. Chris Flippin had 12 points and shot 4 of 9 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line. The Eagles (5-23, 3-10) were led by Derrius Ward and Jonathan Dunn with nine points apiece. Maryland-Eastern Shore visits Delaware State on Thursday to close out the regular season and Coppin State hosts Morgan State. ___

(AP) — Brian Moore Jr. scored 17 points to help Norfolk State deal Maryland Eastern Shore its ninth straight loss, 75-63 on Saturday night. Moore also had six rebounds for the Spartans (17-8, 7-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Jaylani Darden added 16 points, five rebounds and four steals. Chris Fields Jr. had 13 points. Evan Johnson and Kyrell Shaw both scored 21 to lead the Hawks (4-20, 0-8). ___

(AP) — Cameron Shockley-Okeke and Marcus Dockery scored 18 points apiece to lead Howard to a 77-57 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday night. Shockley-Okeke shot 6 for 12, including 5 for 11 from beyond the arc for the Bison (10-14, 5-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Dockery made 7 for 10 shots (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and 2 of 4 from the free-throw line. Blake Harper had 13 points. Ketron Shaw had 25 points and four steals to lead the Hawks (4-19, 0-7), who have lost eight in a row. Chris Flippin had 12 points and Evan Johnson scored 10. ___
