Israeli strike kills Iranian journalist and staffer, disrupts live broadcast
Iranian journalist Nima Rajabpour and IRIB staffer Masoumeh Azimi have been confirmed dead following an Israeli strike on Tehran's state broadcasting compound, according to state news agency IRNA.
Rajabpour worked as a news editor, while Azimi held a role in the broadcaster's secretariat.
The attack brought a live transmission to an abrupt halt. It followed a stark warning from Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, who declared: 'The Iranian propaganda and incitement mouthpiece is on its way to disappear.'
Israel has yet to comment directly on the deaths, but the strike marks a severe escalation in the ongoing shadow war between the two regional powers.
