MasterChef Junior's Jordyn Joyner shares her Valentine's Day pizza roll-ups recipe
HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — MasterChef Junior Season 9 contestant Jordyn Joyner shared a unique Valentine's Day idea on the FOX8 Morning News. Here's the recipe for her Pizza Roll-Ups that she turned into a bouquet.
1 package of pizza dough
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1/2 cup pepperoni slices
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Cooking spray or oil (for greasing the muffin tin)
Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a clean surface and cut it into strips, about 2 inches wide.
Add sauce: Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each strip.
Add toppings: Lay a few pepperoni slices along each strip.
Roll it up: Roll each strip tightly into a spiral and place them seam-side down into a greased muffin tin.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the dough begins to turn golden brown.
Add cheese: Remove the muffin tin from the oven, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each roll-up, and add a pinch of Italian seasoning.
Final bake: Return to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Cool & serve: Let the pizza roll-ups cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
