Taylor Swift Might Get Her First Tattoo Ever After Masters Buy Back
It's a time full of celebrations for after officially purchasing her masters, and she might even get a tattoo to mark the huge moment. The singer recently announced that her 'entire life's work' — the music and content she has released over her decades-long career — now belongs to her. Swift couldn't have been more elated as she penned a touching letter to share the big news. She even joked about dedicating her first tattoo to this milestone.
Taylor Swift officially has the rights to all her life's work after purchasing the master recordings. The 35-year-old pop star wrote a heart-touching letter, which was shared on her website, to celebrate her 'greatest dream' coming true, and even hinted she might get her first tattoo after all. An emotional Swift heartfeltly penned, 'I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals even since I found out that this is really happening.' The 'Love Story' hitmaker then announced, 'All of the music I've ever made… now belongs… to me.'
Swift continued to thank her fans for supporting her through this journey, as she also reflected on re-recording four of her albums, calling them 'Taylor's Version.' Further in the lengthy letter, she also expressed her gratitude to 'everyone at Shamrock Capital for being the first people to ever offer this' to her. While giving them a shoutout, Swift noted that 'every interaction' they had was 'honest, fair, and respectful.'
Although it was a 'business deal' for Shamrock Capital, Swift continued, 'I really felt like they saw it for what it was for me: My memories and my sweat and my handwriting and my decades of dreams.' The musician gushed that she's 'endlessly thankful.' This is when Swift joked, 'My first tattoo might just be a huge shamrock in the middle of my forehead.' The 'Blank Space' singer then continued to express her joy and even shared some insight on the 'Taylor's Version' of her 'Reputation' album, revealing that she hasn't 're-recorded a quarter of it.'
Shamrock got the rights to Taylor Swift's masters from Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings in November 2020. Years later, the pop star finally owns her 'entire life's work.'
