Unicoi Co. Commission approves engineering firm for Chestoa Bridge
ERWIN, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Unicoi County Commission approved a contract for an engineering firm for the replacement of the Chestoa Bridge, which was destroyed by flooding from Hurricane Helene.
On Monday night, commissioners approved a contract with Mattern & Craig Engineers.

EMA Director Jimmy Erwin told News Channel 11 that the county has been working to replace the bridge since 'day one.'
After the engineering firm draws up plans for a new bridge, the county will seek bids for its construction.
The project is pending approval from the mayor and FEMA.
