Days of our Lives Comings and Goings: Big Goodbyes, But They'll Be Back
Another week, another goodbye on Days of our Lives. Here's the latest comings and goings casting news from the soap. Check out who bid adieu to Salem. Plus, find out if any newcomers are joining the Peacock drama in contract, recurring, or day-player roles. Some fan favorites have wrapped up their brief return stints. Matthew Ashford and Melissa Reeves said goodbye to Salem as Jack and Jennifer Deveraux, when their characters headed back to Boston. But fret not, they'll eventually be back for another visit. Also on the exit front, Christie Clark is out as Carrie Brady Reed. The character returned to Switzerland to join her husband, Austin (Austin Peck), and their son, Noah. Meanwhile, the drama revs up regarding Tate (Leo Howard) and Sophia's (Rachel Boyd) baby, which means more airtime for Tina Huang as Melinda Trask. The actress appears in scenes with Boyd on Thursday, July 3, when Sophia asks the attorney for help.

Here's Who Should Have Written John's Obituary On Days of our Lives
John's obituary became a main topic after his recent death on Days of our Lives, but if you ask us, it wasn't written by the right person. Salem has always been filled with writers, from Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Abigail (Marci Miller), to its latest, Leo (Greg Rikaart). Leo started at The Spectator as Lady Whistleblower, and now works as the paper's investigative reporter. So when the time came for John's (the late Drake Hogestyn) obituary, the job automatically went to Leo. READ THIS: DAYS casting surprise! The Young and the Restless' Conner Floyd is the new Chad. Granted, Leo did have a connection with John, once believing he was his father. But the actual Salemite who had the closest relationship with John and a way with words is Will (Chandler Massey). Will has become an established writer, his most notable work being A Very Salem Christmas. But despite his return to Salem to say goodbye to his grandfather, he wasn't asked to pen his obituary. Ironically, this isn't the first time Leo snagged a writing job meant for Will. When Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Abe (James Reynolds) were seeking a head writer for Body & Soul, Will was Kate's first choice.
