Dept. Q Mysteriously Disappeared From Netflix Hours After Premiere — But Now It's Back

Here's a very warm case for Dept. Q to solve: Where did all nine episodes of the new Netflix series briefly disappear to, some 19 hours after its premiere?! On Thursday evening, reports hit social media saying that the Matthew Goode-led detective series had up and vanished, mid-binge, for many frustrated people. More from TVLine And Just Like That Premiere: Carrie and Aidan's Long-Distance Romance Hits an Embarrassing Snag (Plus, Grade It!) Save the Dates: Spidey's Return, Cocomelon's Move and More Casting News: Hamilton at the Tonys, She's All That Reunion and More Other Netflix titles, however, were available and behaving properly (at least Stateside), TVLine independently and scientifically confirmed in our New York laboratory. Update: Around 10:38 pm ET, Dept. Q resurfaced and appeared on Search on the streamer; TVLine has reached out to Netflix for comment on the nature of the snafu. In Dept. Q, DCI Carl Morck (played by Goode) is 'a brilliant cop but a terrible colleague,' the official synopsis tells us. 'His razor-sharp sarcasm has made him no friends in Edinburgh police. 'After a shooting that leaves a young pc dead and his partner paralyzed, Morck finds himself exiled to the basement and the sole member of Department Q, a newly formed cold case unit,' the overview reads. 'The department is a PR stunt, there to distract the public from the failures of an under-resourced, failing police force that is glad to see the back of him. But more by accident than design, Carl starts to build a gang of waifs and strays who have everything to prove. So, when the stone-cold trail of a prominent civil servant who disappeared several years ago starts to heat up, Carl is back doing what he does best — rattling cages and refusing to take no for an answer.' Written and directed by The Queen's Gambit's Scott Frank, Dept. Q also stars Chloe Pirrie (The Queen's Gambit), Alexej Manvelov (Top Dog), Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire) and Leah Byrne.
