Banque Saudi Fransi Launches Next-Gen Digital Banking Platform with Backbase
Backbase, a global provider of AI-driven banking technology, has announced the launch of Banque Saudi Fransi's (BSF) new digital banking platform.
The platform, now available via BSF's mobile and online channels, marks a significant stage in the bank's ongoing digital transformation efforts.
The updated ecosystem supports BSF's objective of advancing its digital banking capabilities, introducing retail mobile and web platforms that streamline account management, offer improved payment solutions, and strengthen security measures.
The system is underpinned by Backbase's AI-powered platform and aims to deliver a consistent experience across digital touchpoints.
Among the key enhancements is the improved functionality for financial transactions, enabling users to conduct domestic and international transfers, pay bills through SADAD, and access Western Union services.
Card management has also been enhanced, with Apple Pay integration and lifestyle reward features providing customers with increased flexibility.
Additionally, the platform supports digital sales functions, such as simplified onboarding processes and expedited credit card application procedures.
Security features have been significantly upgraded.
The implementation includes panic mode activation, detailed device management protocols, and GPS consent features.
A multi-factor authentication system, incorporating biometric verification and one-time password (OTP) validation, is expected to raise security standards for digital banking in Saudi Arabia.
The platform was developed through a collaboration between Backbase and Hexaware, which managed middleware integration.
The result is a system designed to deliver a unified, omnichannel experience, enabling BSF to reach new customer segments and encourage the use of digital and self-service channels for everyday banking needs.
At the same time, the bank continues to support human interaction for more complex services.
'BSF's successful transformation exemplifies how forward-thinking financial institutions in the Middle East are embracing digital platforms to better serve their customers,'
said Matthijs Eijpe, Regional Vice President, EMEA at Backbase.
'This implementation sets a new standard for digital banking excellence in Saudi Arabia and demonstrates our platform's ability to deliver truly transformative banking experiences.'
Abdullah Alwabel, Head of Group Digital at BSF, added:
'The results of this initiative reflect the seamless and efficient efforts from the Backbase team in building a truly integrated and enhanced digital experience for our customers. This is just the beginning, we're already working on the next set of milestones for our Digital Channels.'
