How Matthew Gaudreau's memory live on through wife Madeline's new fashion venture

Madeline Gaudreau will launch 'Matty's collection' on June 1, a clothing line honoring Matthew Gaudreau (Image via Instagram) Nearly a year after the tragic loss of Matthew Gaudreau, the hockey community and the Gaudreau family continue to find meaningful ways to honor his legacy. On June 1, Matthew's wife, Madeline Gaudreau, will release a touching tribute to her late husband in the form of a cozy, fashion-forward clothing line designed in collaboration with BLK The Label. Madeline Gaudreau launches heartfelt 'comfy' clothing line in memory of late husband Matthew Gaudreau In a heartfelt Instagram post, Madeline Gaudreau unveiled the upcoming launch of 'Matty's collection,' a custom line of sweatsuits that reflect the style and spirit of the man she loved. 'Mattys collection will be live June 1st It was such an honor designing this with BLK The Label,' she wrote. 'If you know Matty you know he was always in his 'comfies.' I wanted to make sure that we had a sweat suit that spoke to his style which is simple and also comfortable. ' Madeline emphasized how much Matthew loved wearing comfortable clothes and bright colors—especially green. One standout item in the collection is a bucket hat, which she said was Matty's signature summer accessory. The collection also includes youth sizes, a thoughtful touch that honors Matthew's post-retirement dedication to coaching youth hockey. 'He would've loved seeing the kids he taught and his nieces and nephews wearing something created in his honor,' she shared. 'Know just how important this is to me and to him,' Madeline added, noting that a portion of the collection's proceeds will benefit The John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation. The Gaudreau family's acts of remembrance continued earlier this month when Katie Gaudreau, Matthew's sister, ran the 2025 Broad Street Run in Philadelphia. Though she had minimal training, she ran each mile in tribute to someone meaningful in her life. She closed the final mile for her late brothers Johnny and Matty, writing: 'Broad Street 2025 🤍 Very little training but a whole lot of support... Although I wouldn't recommend 10 miles without training. ' Their enduring legacy lives on in every step, stitch, and story. GNFL milestone: Railways Matt Kimberley chalks up game 150 this weekend against Northampton

When Railways travel to Kalbarri this weekend to take on Northampton, they will be celebrating one of their best in Matt Kimberley as he gears up for game 150. Beginning his football journey at Railways as a junior, Kimberley worked his way up the ranks before getting the opportunity to play his first league game in June 2014. That day, Kimberley kicked two goals in a 29-point win over Towns at the Rec. Kimberley has since forged himself quite the career, winning the GNFL's President's Medal (best player in colts) in 2015 as well as 56 best player listings, including 10 in finals. Railways coach John Reynolds said Kimberley was an important part of the club on and off the field. 'To see Matty come up from the juniors doing the hard yards is special,' he said. 'He's helped as a water boy, a runner and all those types of things. 'Then finally produced some good footy to be able to play league, and once he started that, there was no turning back.' Shining bright this year, Kimberley has been playing in one of the most talented midfields this season. 'He (Kimberley) is a leader off the field as well as on the field and the way he plays as well,' Reynolds said. 'So he's a massive part of the culture that we're building at the club — to have him around and he's consistently around, it's massive for me as a coach.' Reynolds said some of the younger players looked up to Kimberley and his level of consistency. 'Matty does his job, he's happy to put his hand up if there's a task on hand,' he said. 'He's just happy to go out there and play good football, that's what makes him so valuable.'

Glastonbury headliners The 1975 preparing sixth studio album

The 1975 are working on a follow-up to 2022's 'Being Funny In A Foreign Language'. Matty Healy and co only have one concert booked for 2025, headlining Glastonbury on June 27, which frees up their time to make their sixth studio album. The 'Love Me' group's manager, Dirty Hit label boss Jamie Oborne, told the 'The Money Trench' podcast of Glasto: 'It's such a big gig, and it's the only show that we're playing this year. '[Matty Healy] thought doing it in isolation would be a really powerful thing. I obviously agreed with him, as I often do.' On new music, he said: 'They're making a record at the moment. I don't know when it will come out, but they're making one. 'I think they've earned the right to take their time. 'The world's gonna be listening, so it needs to be right.' Oborne teased that the LP is already sounding "pretty extraordinary". In 2023, Matty revealed the band would embark on an 'indefinite hiatus' from live shows after completing their mammoth 'Still… At Their Very Best' tour in March 2204. Performing at the Golden 1 Center, in Sacramento, California, in September, he told the crowd: 'It's wonderful you're all here. 'After this tour, we will be going on an indefinite hiatus with shows, so it's wonderful to have you guys with us tonight. Thank you so much.' Matty's mum Denise Welch had admitted her son was 'absolutely exhausted' and 'ready for a break". The TV star told Britain's OK! magazine: 'Matty is absolutely shattered. He's on a world tour and as much as it's hard to go, 'Oh please feel sorry for my boy', people don't realise that it's gruelling to be the lead singer, the creator, the writer, the producer of a massive show on the scale that Matthew does. 'Then he gets on stage and gets in a plane and flies seven hours then flies 24 hours. 'It's a wonderful life, but he's absolutely exhausted and ready for a break.'

BURGESS Q&A: Ashton, building consistency and leaving Wembley in the future

THE semi-final celebrations have died down and now, it's back to the weekly grind for Warrington Wolves. With a Challenge Cup Final date with Hull KR now looming large on the horizon, minds may naturally wander towards that big occasion next month. However, head coach Sam Burgess insists there are no thoughts of Wembley just yet with three important Super League matches to play before then, starting with Sunday's trip to Wakefield Trinity. The Wire boss sat down with the Warrington Guardian's Wire reporter Matt Turner to discuss the days and weeks ahead, and he also gave more detail about the cruel, season-ending blow for star winger Matty Ashton. Here is everything asked and answered in our exclusive Q&A… MT: I guess given the awful news surrounding Matty Ashton's injury, the first question has to be simply 'how is he?' SB: It's a really tragic injury for him and he's obviously upset about his position, so we've given him some time off to get himself away to the sun. We're all absolutely gutted for Matty and I think most rugby league fans are. He brings a lot to the game and is really exciting to watch. Since I've been working with him, I feel his game's been brilliant. He's cemented himself as one of the international wingers and I think we were all looking forward to seeing him have a go against the Aussies. One thing with Matty is he'll find a way to be positive about it and learn something when the time comes, but we can't hide the fact we're all gutted for him. We'll move on as a group and we'll get over it as we've got some great players to come in, but we're all gutted. Matty Ashton will miss the remainder of 2025 having damaged the ACL and MCL in his knee (Image: Olly Hassell/ MT: When did it actually happen, the injury? SB: He did it in the fifth minute, when he held Darnell McIntosh up over the line. It was such an unfortunate injury – it was a contest in the air and he landed on his leg. MT: Did it shock you to discover the full extent of what he'd done because it looked like he was getting ready to come back on? SB: We were all shocked – we initially thought it was a medial and that would have been a couple of weeks. Then he was saying there was some clicking in his knee, which is never a good sign. He was going to come on for the last 20 minutes when Josh Thewlis got injured – he kept telling me he was ready to go back on but I just had a feeling he wasn't great. That said, I didn't have a clue it would be as bad as it was. Ashton suffered his injury following this aerial contest with Darnell McIntosh, which ended with him holding the Leigh winger up over the try line (Image: Allan McKenzie/ MT: You'll obviously have a group of players in there who will be desperate to play at Wembley, but that's three weeks away. With that in mind, is your message that there's places in the team out there to be grabbed in these next few weeks? SB: As we've seen, a lot can change on the spot. We're not even worrying about Wembley just yet – we're trying to get our best team on the field at Wakefield, get a good performance in and then we'll re-assess again. With the way it's been going for us, we're touching a bit of wood every week and then re-assessing to go again. Wembley is three games away and I don't really want to think about it yet because the team will be different by then, just based on circumstance. We'll cross that bridge when we get there. MT: How do you assess where you sit in Super League at the moment as you pick up the season again? Being ninth obviously won't have been part of the plan but looking at the table, it's still very open? SB: I'm not too worried about where we sit – I'm looking at our performances. We're not hiding from the fact we haven't been as consistent as we'd like but we've identified a couple of things to have a look at that we think has played a part in that. What we're starting to see now is some more consistent performances in terms of markers that we look for. Although we had a couple of losses leading into the semi, we really felt our game was moving in the right direction. We've struggled with inconsistency in the team but we've enjoyed the challenge and have figured out different ways to play. No doubt once we start stringing a few games together and a bit of momentum comes our way, the ball will bounce our way soon enough. We understand that it's a long year and nothing is won or lost at this time of year in the league. MT: You lost to Wakefield in Round Four but a lot of water has gone under the bridge between now and then. How do you assess how they've built their season since then? SB: They've been great and have been exciting to watch. They really test out your defensive line so we've got to be on our game, there's no doubt about it. We're looking forward to the challenge again because they did beat us here and were the far better side on the day. We'll have our work cut out.
