Szoboszlai will retain his place in the XI In an interview with M4 Sport, Dominik Szoboszlai's agent and famous manager Matyas Esterhazy spoke about how he sees the Hungarian getting on in the upcoming season with the Reds. Of course, this is not a definitive claim, as Slot will have the final word on how the team plays, but Szoboszlai's camp is far from concerned about the arrival of Wirtz and the impact it may have. We've already seen how a No. 8 role might be adopted next season - which he excelled in for the Hungarian national team at the end of the last campaign, but what might this future set up look like? Well, bringing Szoboszlai deeper into midfield compromises Alexis Mac Allister, because Ryan Gravenberch is a bit of a non-negotiable in the side, so is losing the Argentine an option? No, really. Advertisement So we might see Cody Gakpo or Luis Diaz, or both, left on the bench from time to time, with Wirtz playing as more of a left-winger, or making up a double pivot of No. 10s alongside Szoboszlai, if you want to utilise Wirtz in addition to the title-winning midfield that Arne Slot used last season. But in general, a lot of different combinations could be used throughout the upcoming campaign, and it will be fascinating to see the impact on each player's workloads. In Szoboszlai's case, the off the ball work he does covering Salah and elsewhere on the pitch is paramount, so we'll need him.
