Nobody Wants This fans say the same thing as Netflix cast confirm season 2 release date

Nobody Wants This season two was confirmed just one month after the romantic-comedy dropped on Netflix last year WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Nobody Wants This. Nobody Wants This season two's release date has been unveiled with the main cast given the job of announcing exactly when it will be out. ‌ Season one of Adam Brody and Kristen Bell's new rom-com series took the world by storm last year as Netflix fans couldn't get enough of Rabbi Noah and podcaster Joanne's turbulent romance. ‌ It took less than a month for the streamer to confirm the show's future and thankfully, there will be more to come from Noah, Joanne and their meddling families with series two on the way. The main cast made up of Bell, Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn featured in a video where they get a Magic 8 ball to answer questions about series two. Brody was disappointed to get 'try again loser' as he asked if Noah's basketball team Matzah Ballers would make it to the play-offs and Lupe celebrated as she received a 'Mazel Tov' on Morgan finding love this time around. Bell then asked: 'What is coming on October 23?', prompting the Magic 8 ball to reply 'Ask a Rabbi'. ‌ Brody then took his cue and replied: 'And the Rabbi says, season two [of] your favourite show and mine, Nobody Wants This.' Following the announcement, fans flooded to YouTube and X, formerly Twitter, to express their excitement with many sharing that they 'cannot wait' for the new episodes. Some fans though couldn't help but comment on the quick turn around with series two's release date announced less than a year since the first outing. ‌ A user remarked: 'I'm genuinely shocked! A show that has its second season released only a year after the first one?! 'I never thought I'd see that happen again! Usually shows take two years before another season releases!' A second agreed: 'Happy to hear. It feels kinda fast in a good way. Shows have been taking forever to come back on.' ‌ Another added: 'The turnaround on this to season two soooo good ! Well done to all involved.' 'Finally a show when you don't have to wait 2 3 years for a new season,' someone else remarked. A new casting announcement has already been made with Gossip Girl legend and Brody's real-life wife Leighton Meester joining for Nobody Wants This season two. It has been revealed that Meester is going to play Abby, Joanne's school nemesis who now works as an Instagram mommy influencer.

Nobody Wants This Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Here's what we know about Nobody Wants This Season 2: It can't come soon enough. After the Netflix rom-com made its series debut on Sept. 26, 2024, its story of a rabbi (played by Adam Brody) and an agnostic podcaster (Kristen Bell) who fall in love despite the odds quickly charmed viewers' hearts (and got them racing with that fantastic first kiss). While Noah and Joanne's families were skeptical, if not outright disapproving of their relationship, their romance won the approval of Netflix, earning the series a swift renewal just two weeks later. Now, as we not-so-patiently wait for the second season, let's review all the intel we have about the upcoming episodes, which is, surprisingly, bountiful. With production already underway, we've gathered details on when the show will return, new cast members (Leighton Meester!), who's getting a series-regular promotion and much more. We even have a first look at a sweet moment between Joanne and Noah! Read on for everything we know so far about Season 2, then hit the comments with your hopes for Joanne and Noah's love story. There is no official premiere date yet for the second season, but production began this March toward a 2025 release date. To mark the start of filming on the new episodes, Netflix shared the above on-set photo of Joanne and Noah cuddling on the couch. Bell (Joanne), Brody (Noah), Justine Lupe (Joanne's sister Morgan) and Timothy Simons (Noah's brother Sasha) are all set to reprise their roles. Additionally, as TVLine exclusively reported, Jackie Tohn, who plays Sasha's wife/Noah's sister-in-law Esther, has been promoted to series regular. Tohn also shared a behind-the-scenes Season 2 photo on Instagram with her TV in-laws, played by Tovah Feldshuh and Paul Ben-Victor. Spotted in Bell's Instagram reel from Season 2 filming are recurring guest stars Sherry Cola as Joanne and Noah's mutual friend, Ashley, and D'Arcy Carden as Joanne's pal, Rayann. Brody's real-life wife, Leighton Meester — who shared the screen with Bell on Veronica Mars and Gossip Girl — will guest-star as Abby, Joanne's middle school nemesis-turned-Instagram mommy influencer. Meester told TVLine that she was 'really rooting for' Noah and Joanne as she watched the first season. 'I loved how deeply developed both the characters were and how they got to be these imperfect people, finding each other,' she added. Additional Season 2 castings include Miles Fowler (The Resident) as Lenny, Noah's Matzah Ballers basketball teammate who is set up with Joanne's sister, Morgan; Arian Moayed (Succession) as Dr. Andy, a charming psychotherapist who might just be the perfect match for Morgan; and Alex Karpovsky (Girls) as Big Noah, an overly confident rabbi at Noah's temple. Based off Netflix's cuddly and couple-y Season 2 first look, it appears that Rabbi Noah did, indeed, choose Joanne over his job. As you'll recall, in the Season 1 finale, Joanne had a change of heart about converting to Judaism after talking to Noah's ex-girlfriend. Noah suggested that they just slow down their relationship, but neither one of them could see how this works out if Joanne doesn't convert, especially given Noah's recent promotion to head rabbi. The two went their separate ways, but moments later, Noah showed up at Joanne's car and declared, 'You were right. I can't have both,' then kissed her. 'I like to think he's chosen Joanne, and the rest will work itself out, but that's not his primary concern,' Brody told TVLine. 'I don't know if, in the light of day, he still feels that way, but in the moment, I feel like that's what he's communicating.' Meanwhile, the castings of Fowler and Moayed as potential love interests for Morgan suggest that Joanne's sister will be hitting the dating scene in Season 2. Girls vets Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan are joining creator Erin Foster — on whose life the show is loosely based — as new showrunners. Adam Brody and Kristen Bell Are Back to Work on 'Nobody Wants This' as Season 2 Begins Production

Season 2 of Nobody Wants This is officially in production! On Friday, March 7, Netflix announced in a press release that filming for the hit comedy series starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell had begun. One of the first stills from the upcoming season shows Brody, 45, and Bell, 44, as Noah and Joanne, respectively, cuddled up on the couch — seemingly giving fans clues about what's happened to the couple since the dramatic ending of season 1. The streamer confirmed that many of the mainstay cast members from season 1, including Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn, will be returning for the second season. The latest installment in the story will also feature appearances from guest stars including Leighton Meester (who is also the real-life wife to Brody) as Abby, Joanne's (Bell) middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer. Related: Nobody Wants This Season 2: All About the Rom-Com Series' Next Chapter (Including a Guest Appearance from One Star's Wife!) Other guests will include Miles Fowler as Lenny, Noah's (Brody) Matzah Ballers teammate who gets set up with Morgan (Lupe), Alex Karpovsky as "Big Noah" who is an "overly confident rabbi" at the temple and Arian Moayed as Dr. Andy, a "charming, highly regarded (particularly by himself) psychotherapist who might just be the perfect match for Morgan," per Netflix. Nobody Wants This is inspired by creator Erin Foster's real-life love story with her husband, Simon Tikham. The series follows Noah, a newly single rabbi, and Joanne, an agnostic dating podcaster, as they attempt to make their relationship work despite major cultural differences. The couple deal with "all of the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families," per Netflix. Although an official synopsis for season 2 hasn't been released yet, Brody has teased that he wants to see where Noah and Joanne's relationship is going. 'I think that's what the show can explore,' the O.C. actor told Tudum in February. 'What should he do? What should she do? What version of sacrifice is worth it? What constitutes growth, or what constitutes dimming yourself to be with someone else? It's a sacrifice, but ideally, you grow together and you're better for it — you don't have to [lop] off a limb.' Speaking with Deadline that same month, Brody also said that there is "very little" he's able to share about the upcoming season so far. Although, he did drop a hint about a potential plot line. 'I think repercussions from [Noah] choosing maybe love over work. He's going to grapple with that," he said. Netflix also shared that season 1 of the series was a streaming hit, as the rom-com climbed the charts to its Global English Top 10 TV List and spent 6 weeks there. The series was also viewed 57 million times following its Sept. 26 premiere date through the end of 2024. Season 1 of Nobody Wants This is now streaming on Netflix.
