Rangers to 'step up' pursuit of Metinho as bids expected
The playmaker has been on the radar at Ibrox after an impressive contribution to Basel's Swiss title win while on loan from Troyes.
They have tried to make that permanent but already had one offer knocked back by the French side.
Troyes are expecting more bids from interested clubs.
49ers Enterprises had the player earmarked as one they'd like to invest in even before their consortium swept into power in Govan.
Troyes paid £4 million to sign Metonho from Fluminense in his homeland. He has since been on loan at Lommel and Sparta Rotterdam, both in the Netherlands, and joined Basel in January.
Rangers have already signed right-back Max Aaarons on loan from Bournemouth and are being linked with fellow defenders Conor Coady and Owen Beck and Israeli striker Dor Turgeman.
