Elite OT names Texas in top four schools

Elite OT names Texas in top four schools Texas produced the top-ranked recruiting class for 2025. However, the 2026 cycle needs more juice, and one of the top remaining uncommitted recruits has placed the Longhorns on a very exclusive list. Malakai Lee, who stands 6-foot-7 and weighs 320 pounds has named Texas as one of his top four schools per Hayes Fawcett. They join Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan. On3's industry rankings have Lee as the No. 118 overall prospect and the No. 10 offensive tackle in the nation. They also have him as the No. 2 player in Hawaii. Lee recently visited Georgia in April. He will travel to see Alabama on May 30 before seeing Texas on June 6 followed by Michigan on June 20. Texas was the first out of these schools to offer Lee, doing so before his freshman season in high school in May of 2022. The Longhorns have an opportunity here to add to offensive line commits Max Wright who committed in February and was followed by Max Wright in March. Texas lands commitment from 2026 OT Max Wright on National Signing Day

Texas lands commitment from 2026 OT Max Wright on National Signing Day 6-foot-8 standout committed to the Texas Longhorns on National Signing Day. Max Wright, welcome to the Forty Acres. Texas has bolstered its 2026 recruiting class with a key addition in Melissa (TX) offensive lineman Max Wright, who announced his commitment to the Longhorns on Wednesday morning on National signing day. Wright, a familiar face on the Forty Acres, has attended Texas' junior days in 2024 and 2025, multiple games during the 2024 season, and the Longhorns' end-of-summer event in Austin. At 6-foot-8 and 310 pounds, he brings an imposing frame to the offensive line, solidifying Texas' efforts to build a dominant front for the future. A left tackle with the tools to remain on the outside, Wright excels in close-quarters blocking, particularly in the run game, where his size and strength overwhelm defenders. His combination-blocking ability and agility make him a versatile asset, while his presence in pass protection casts a wide shadow on the edge. While still refining his foot quickness to counter elite edge rushers, Wright's physical tools give him a high-floor, high-ceiling projection at the Power Four level according to 247 Sports. This is another big commitment for the Sarkisian and co. team for the Texas' 2026 recruiting efforts as the Longhorns continue to stack talent along the offensive front.
