2-vehicle crash sends Austin woman to hospital
Jun. 11—An Austin woman was injured Tuesday afternoon after the vehicle she was driving was involved in a crash on Highway 218. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash took place a little after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday and involved a 2008 KIA Rio driven by 38-year-old Marcelina Aguilar Mendoza of Austin and a 2021 Mack Pinnacle driven by 52-year-old Jason Michael Mattes of Sleepy Eye. Both vehicles were traveling southbound on Highway 218 when they collided in a rear-end collision at 18th Avenue NW. The report doesn't indicate which vehicle was trailing in the collision. Aguilar Mendoza was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin with non-life threatening injuries. The Austin Police Department and Mayo Ambulance responded.

May 13—A side door was reported kicked in at 8:40 a.m. Saturday at 72919 120th St. in Glenville. Five to six guns were missing, along with a golf cart. The burglary and theft are believed to have occurred between 4 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday. 1 arrested on probation violation Police arrested Alicia Marie Heilmann, 34, on an alleged probation violation at 9:10 p.m. Monday at 604 Third Ave. in Freeborn. Hit-and-run crashes reported Police received a report at 2:51 p.m. Friday of a hit-and-run crash at 110 S. Third Ave. Damage was believed to have occurred sometime overnight. Police received a report of a hit-and-run crash at 4:25 p.m. Friday near Y.H. Hanson Avenue and Hershey Street. School bus stop arm violations reported Police cited Nancy Jane Schwarz, 85, for a school bus stop arm violation at 3:51 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and Stevens Street. A citation was being sent to Michael Joseph Kelly, 78, for a school bus stop arm violation at 4:34 p.m. Friday near Garfield Avenue and East Hawthorne Street. 1 arrested on warrant Police arrested Holly Marie Langfald, 46, on a local warrant at 6:09 p.m. Friday at 2406 Larson Ave. 1 arrested for assault Police arrested Destiny Eileen Davis, 22, for fifth-degree assault after receiving a report of someone who was walking and was hit in the face by a female at 10:07 p.m. Friday at 223 E. Third St. 1 arrested on A&D hold Police arrested Angel Antonio Gonzales, 36, on an arrest and detain hold and fourth-degree assault at 2:28 a.m. Saturday at 127 S. Broadway. Items stolen from hotel room Police received a report at 2:04 p.m. Saturday of an unregistered guest who reportedly left through a window and stole a TV and refrigerator from a room at 2306 E. Main St. There was also damage to the room, and drug paraphernalia was left behind. Garage broken into, laptop damaged Police received a report of a garage that was broken into and a Chromebook computer damaged at 5:04 p.m. Sunday at 204 N. Third Ave. 1 arrested for DWI Police arrested Ethan Jaycob Marcus Fickett, 23, for driving while intoxicated after receiving multiple reports of an individual who ran over an electrical curb and then ran over the curb at 6:28 p.m. Sunday at 1102 Sykes St. 1 injured in assault One female was checked out by Mayo Ambulance after police received a report at 3:24 a.m. Monday of an assault by a group of other females and some males at the Edgewater Park boat landing at 21714 733rd Ave. in Albert Lea. The individuals left before police arrived. Police stated the suspects had previously worked with the victim. After the incident, at 8:51 a.m., police received a report of a car that was broken into at the same address. Damage was reported to the car and items were missing. Hit-and-run reported A hit-and-run crash was reported at 10:28 a.m. Monday at 221 E. Main St. Theft reported A 3-ton jack was reported taken at 12:39 p.m. Monday at 718 Ulstad Ave. It was taken overnight.

Albert Lea woman injured in crash
Mar. 5—An Albert Lea woman was one of three people injured Tuesday night on Minnesota Highway 22 in Mankato. The Minnesota State patrol report states Laurie Lee Bush, 56, of Albert Lea; Leonard John Bush, 58, of Mankato; and Tammy Lynn Johnson, 59, of Mankato, were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not-life threatening. The report stated Laurie Bush was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion southbound on Highway 22 near North Victory Drive and Johnson was driving a 2017 Kia Sorento southbound on Highway 22 when the two vehicles collided at about 10:13 p.m. Leonard Bush was a passenger in the Ford Fusion. The report states roads were snowy and icy at the time of the crash. All three occupants were wearing their seat belts, according to the report. The Mankato police and fire departments assisted at the scene, along with the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office and Mayo Ambulance. Alcohol was not a factor.

Austin woman injured in early morning crash Tuesday
Feb. 25—An Austin woman was injured early Tuesday morning after a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 90. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash took place at around 5:40 a.m. at mile marker 178 in Mower County when a Ford Escape, driven by 37-year-old Cecilia Gonzalez of Austin, left the roadway and collided with the median barrier. Gonzalez was taken to Mower County Health System-Austin for non-life threatening injuries. The report lists roads at snow/ice covered. The Austin Police Department and Mayo Ambulance also responded.
