Celebrate the start of baseball season at McGregor Square's free watch party.
State of play: The Colorado Rockies will kick off their season on the road Friday against the Rays in Tampa Bay.
Driving the news: Though the rest of the league kicks off their season Thursday, the Rays got an extra day to prepare the New York Yankees' spring training facility for major league play.
Tampa Bay is using the Yankees' practice field in Florida temporarily because of damage to Tropicana Field by Hurricane Milton.
What to expect: McGregor Square will have a live DJ during the watch party's first hour, with drink specials, giveaways and an appearance from Rockies' mascot Dinger.
Veteran pitcher Kyle Freeland will make his fourth Opening Day start for the Rockies, facing Tampa Bay's Ryan Pepiot.
When: 1-10pm Friday, game begins at 2:10pm
What we're watching: Colorado's home opener is April 4 vs. the Athletics.
