Windsor McDonald's franchisee one of Top 3 fundraisers in Canada

A Windsor McDonald's franchisee is one of the Top 3 fundraisers across Canada. Franchisee Jason Trussell raised over $224,000 in support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Houses in Windsor and London. 'We are so grateful to everyone who stopped by on McHappy Day to show their support for the RMHC Houses in Windsor and London,' says Jason Trussell. 'This total reflects the unwavering support of our restaurant teams and our community and will go a long way towards supporting families across our region.' This year, Trussell and his team sold over 4,300 pairs of socks and raised over $5,500 in paper heart donations, contributing to raising this exceptional amount for the RMHC Houses in Windsor and London. He and his team also held other fundraising initiatives throughout the year in support of the RMHC Houses in Windsor and London, such as Big Red Shoe Run and Ronald's House of Champions in partnership with fellow McDonald's franchisee, Matt Tatomir. By ordering their favourite McDonald's meals and menu items, your community made a direct, positive impact on local families with sick or injured children. They helped bring smiles and happiness to those who need it most.

The impact of McHappy Day This year marked the 31st McHappy Day in Canada, bringing the grand total to over $111.3M raised to-date in support of RMHC across Canada and other local children's charities. Windsorites support RMHC through McHappy Day

Thursday marked McHappy Day, when one meal can make a big difference. Every menu item sold on McHappy Day helps support families with sick children through Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Local volunteers, first responders — and personalities from CTV Windsor — rolled up their sleeves to help out. It's a small act with a big impact, and the community turned out in a big way. 'The generosity has been great. Today we were over on the merch table and just the people that would come by and not even want anything, just to make a donation and to help out for a great cause. That's just the spirit of the community that comes through each and every year,' said Pure Country 98's Nathan Carr, who volunteered for the event.
