McDonald's May bank holiday 2025 opening times - check when nearest branch is open
It comes as McDonald's is set to shake up its menu next week with a new drink and spicy dip, plus returning fan favourites If you're looking to treat yourself to your favourite fast food this early May bank holiday, you'll be pleased to know that most McDonald's restaurants will be open for business. We checked McDonald's opening times in several different UK towns, and they were all scheduled to open as normal this Monday, May 5. For example, the McDonald's in Northumberland Street in Newcastle will be open from 6am until 4am on the May bank holiday, while the McDonald's in Cornish Gateway Services in Cornwall is sticking to its normal opening times of 6am until 11pm. The London Bridge branch will be open from 5am until 11.55pm. McDonald's has more than 1,400 branches in the UK and Ireland, of which around 80% of these are franchised. This means they can set their own hours, and so opening times do vary - with this in mind, you may find the odd branch does decide to close or shorten its opening hours this Monday. You should check the opening times of your nearest McDonald's by using its restaurant locator tool to avoid disappointment. If you've never tried one, the McSpicy X Frank's RedHot contains a chicken breast in a hot and crispy coating, topped with lettuce, cheese made with Emmental, jalapenos, slivered onions, and Frank's RedHot Mayo. Spice fans will also be able to buy a separate Frank's RedHot Mayo dip for the first time ever. This burger contains two beef patties, topped with cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions, and fresh lettuce, all drizzled with a savoury black peppercorn sauce. For dessert, McDonald's is bringing back its Biscoff McFlurry and Biscoff Frappe. Biscoff McFlurry features a Biscoff biscuit crumb swirled into soft serve ice cream, while the Biscoff Frappe has a vanilla flavour base, blended with ice and Biscoff biscuit crumb. But the new menu items means McDonald's is taking its Minecraft movie meal and brand new McFlurry flavour off the menu. The new Apple Cake McFlurry features apple and shortcake pieces, and finished with a sour apple sauce. Meanwhile, the Minecraft movie meal is "crafted for adults" and features a Big Mac or nine McNuggets or four Veggie Dippers, plus your choice of side and drink. It also comes with an exclusive collectable toy of your favourite McDonald's characters, blockified. The Minecraft movie meal is available in medium or large size. The spicy Nether Flame Sauce is also being axed. The sauce is made with crushed red pepper and flaming cayenne, balanced with hints of garlic and sweetness, and is inspired by the hell-like nether dimension in the Minecraft series, containing fire and lava. But it isn't all bad news. Maccies fans will still be able to tuck into the Katsu Chicken One, which includes your choice of crispy or grilled chicken, coated in flavourful katsu sauce, packed with crispy onions, crunchy cucumber, and fresh lettuce, wrapped in a warm, toasted tortilla. Plus, Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers are staying on the menu. These are mozzarella cheese dippers flavoured with garlic and chives, in a ciabatta-style breadcrumb coating, served with rich tomato dip.
