Primetime 585 Shining Star: Styles Mckenzie-Baker
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — News 8's Primetime 585 Shining Star highlights students who make an impact on their school communities through sport. Our Friday Shining Star highlights Monroe High School senior, Styles Mckenzie-Baker.
Mckenzie-Baker is a three-sport athlete who has been a varsity football starter for five years. He has also participated for four years as a part of the AGR team.
He was recently voted Partner of the Year for RCAC, a title that celebrates his work helping basketball players on the unified team compete on the court. When asked why he decided to volunteer with the team, Mckenzie-Baker said, 'Every child should be able to compete in sports regardless of their disabilities.'
Outside of athletics, he shines as a member of My Brother's Keeper and has maintained honor roll throughout each year of high school. He is also a member of the distinguished S.M.A.R.T. Program, where he serves as Captain and leader.
Mckenzie-Baker has also been a member of the Changing the Community (CTC) football program for several years. The prominent program prepares and sends students to play college football.
News 8 and Primetime 585 congratulate Styles Mckenzie-Baker on his success and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
