East Hampton's LDV at the Maidstone hotel debuts luxe brand partnerships

Last summer, the 150-year-old Maidstone Hotel, located on Main Street in East Hampton, reopened its doors under the leadership of LDV Hospitality, the group behind NYC's Scarpetta restaurant and famed for its Italian luxury. The hotel, since renamed LDV at the Maidstone, introduced a daily aperitivo hour in the garden and rebooted the elegant restaurant to serve scrumptious Italian pastas. This summer, the Maidstone is bringing even more European elegance to East Hampton courtesy of new partnerships with Sézane, the French fashion brand, and Ginori 1735, a luxury Italian dinnerware company. 3 LDV at the Maidstone hotel will host a Sézane fashion pop-up in its back garden this summer. Letizia Cigliutti 'We want to bring this La Dolce Vita lifestyle to the Hamptons,' John Meadow, the founder and president of LDV Hospitality, tells Alexa. Sézane is setting up a pop-up shop in the hotel's back garden, behind the hedges, from June 20 to July 27. Visitors will be able to order a spritz or glass of fine Italian wine at the bar and shop a unique summer capsule collection (including the famous Justine basket bag) along with limited-edition items. 3 The hotel's recently updated restaurant will serve food on Ginori 1735's elegant Oriente Italiano plates. GLEN ALLSOP 'We went with them because they're young, fresh, fun, playful, whimsical,' explains Meadow. Hotel guests will also be surprised by Sézane products in their rooms. In addition, the hotel will be decked out with objects crafted by Ginori 1735, which is known for its colorful porcelain table settings and home decor. 'It's like Bergdorf-caliber, fancy China,' notes Meadow. Chef Jorge Espinoza, who runs the restaurant, has already been serving his famous spaghetti alla nerano on Ginori 1735's Oriente Italiano plates. This summer all food — both indoor and outdoor — will be served on the brand's tableware. 3 A scrumptions meal from the Maidstone. GLEN ALLSOP The company is also creating printed pillows, umbrellas and throws for the garden and setting up a pop-up shop in the hotel lobby for guests coveting the latest Ginori 1735 collection. 'I watched all last summer as guests would sit there and look at the bottom of the plates to see who made them,' recalls Meadow. 'Why not be able to allow them to bring those home, right?'

Paul Walker's daughter Meadow makes a nipple-popping display in topless shoot

's daughter Meadow displayed her runway physique in an edgy, topless shoot for Takeaway magazine. Meadow, 26, displayed her flat abs (and practically bore her nipples) in the sexy shoot that saw her model an array of outfits. In one sexy yet stylish look, a topless Meadow draped a denim jacket over her bare shoulders with the sleeves strategically covering her cleavage. She casually shoved a hand into the pockets of her jeans as she struck a relaxed pose in chunky white heels and her hair twisted into a braided ponytail. Another particularly revealing outfit saw Meadow - who is newly single after her divorce from Louis Thornton-Allan last year - rock a taupe bodysuit with an center cut-out that displayed her slim abs. The slim top also revealed she was not wearing any bra and displayed her nipples. She went topless in a double denim outfit The topless trend continued in another look that saw Meadow clad in a brown leather jacket, black skirt, and silver jewelry. In her accompanying interview with the magazine, the model revealed her hopes for a 'very wholesome life' with a 'farm in the countryside.' 'I want to be happy, healthy, and living on a farm in the countryside with animals. I want to have a balanced life and be successful without compromising my personal identity. I want to continue my philanthropic work and modeling and acting, but really I just dream of a very wholesome life surrounded by my friends and family.' She also opened up about her father, the late Paul Walker. Meadow was only 15 when her father died in 2013, aged 40, after the car he was traveling in smashed into a concrete lamppost and blew up in flames in California. A year later, Meadow launched a foundation inspired by her father's passion for the ocean, the Paul Walker Foundation, whose mission is to 'empower the next generation of Ocean Leaders', according to their website. Meadow has embraced her father's close connection to the sea and feels particularly close to him whenever she is in the water. 'It really stemmed from the fact that the ocean meant a lot to my dad, and a lot of my core memories are with him by the water. I started it when I was 16 with the goal of empowering and providing access to students pursuing marine biology through a scholarship program,' she told the outlet of the foundation. Elaborating on the 'core memories', she said: 'I grew up in Hawaii, and then we moved to Santa Barbara, so we were always by the ocean. I started swimming and scuba diving when I was really young. My father actually wanted to study marine biology when he was younger. 'After he passed away, I wanted to continue his legacy, not just of Fast and Furious but his personal interest and passion for the ocean. It was a huge part of our relationship. Whenever I'm in the water, I feel like I'm with him and it is really special.' Meadow also revealed the advice her father shared with her that has helped keep her grounded. 'When my dad passed away, there was so much attention on me, and I didn't really understand it at all,' she explained. 'He raised me fully outside of the industry and wasn't around when I entered the public eye when I started modeling at 22, but I always remember him telling me to keep my friends and family close. I refuse to Google myself or anything like that because I think it's a trap you can easily fall into.' The star embraced a more Western style with a floral print dress and leather ankle boots In May 2023, Meadow told E! that she receives signs from her father, over a decade after his death. She told the outlet: 'I swear whenever I'm doubting anything or whenever I'm in an argument with someone or anything, I start seeing four and seven everywhere. So I always know that it's him. 'Even yesterday, I was having a moment and then the clock bells started ringing. And I was like, "OK, it's all good, it's gonna be OK."' In following her famous father's legacy, Meadow landed a small role as a flight attendant in 2023's Furious X. 'For me this is super exciting and he would be amazed that this is happening,' she told the outlet of opportunity.

Auto dealership refunds a customer $2,200 in dispute over EV charging time

'After reviewing everything it was our decision not to lose a customer,' he added. On Nov. 30, Meadow and a salesman test drove a new Hyundai Ioniq 6. Meadow said she asked the salesman, among other questions, how long the vehicle took to charge. Advertisement 'He confidently stated it would take 8 to 12 hours to charge overnight,' she said. Meadow said she relied on that statement when negotiating the financial terms of a lease with the option to buy. At her Lexington home, Meadow plugged her new sedan into an electrical outlet in the garage, expecting it to be fully charged the next morning. But when she checked, it was only 3 percent charged. To be able to fully charge her Ioniq 6 overnight, Meadow later learned from the dealership, she needed to upgrade the electrical service in her garage to 240 volts. She also needed to purchase a charging cable that was of a higher grade — called a level 2 charger — than the one that came standard with the vehicle. Using the charging cable that came as standard equipment, called a level 1 charger, required 40 to 60 hours to fully charge, the dealership told her. The two expenses together totaled about $2,200. She says she would not have signed the lease had she known better. After the dealership denied her demand for compensation, Meadow turned to the Globe. The column attracted a high volume of readers, with more than 200 comments posted to the online version. Some readers faulted the dealership for its erroneous statement, while others blamed Meadow for not doing more research on her own about charging requirements and equipment. Advertisement Meadow said she appreciated the dealership's apology and payment. 'I'm very happy with the resolution,' Meadow said. 'It's been a somewhat stressful process fighting for this for six weeks, so I'm relieved.' 'I love the car, but the process was difficult,' she said. 'As a consumer, I relied on the expertise of the dealership on charging time, and I think that was appropriate because I had no reason to believe I would be misinformed.' Meadow also urged anyone shopping for an all-electric vehicle to 'do their homework.' 'Let my experience help educate others,' she said. Meadow said she's already scheduled an electrician to upgrade the outlet in her garage. Got a problem? Send your consumer issue to
