California is broke and Governor Gavin Newsom is largely to blame for it.
He often brags his state has the 4th largest economy in the world, which is great, but California is still broke.
Part of the reason for their massive 6.2 billion dollar Medicaid budget shortfall is their decision to allow illegal aliens to enroll in the state's taxpayer funded health care program.
It's so bad Gavin now has to walk back his generosity!
This week he announced he now wants to stop enrolling low-income illegal aliens in Medi-CAL in 2026 AND even wants to start charging those already enrolled a monthly premium starting the following year.
This is a major change of heart because just two months ago, he insisted he would not do this very thing.
He said this walk back is due to higher than the higher than expected price tag as it ran up the bill 2.7 billion MORE than anticipated.
That's true and all but the real reason for this about face is Gavin's 2028 presidential ambitions. And that's obvious!
