Kerala witnessed its first-ever media and entertainment-focused conference with the successful debut of MediaCon 2024 on April 22. Held at EMS Hall, University of Kerala, Karyavattom, the one-day conference marked a pivotal step in bridging the gap between emerging media professionals and the dynamic entertainment event was curated by CTLG , a Kerala-based celebrity and artist management agency known for working with talents like Sree Leela, Ayesha Khan, King, and Taba as an industry-first intellectual property (IP), MediaCon brought together students, digital creators , journalists, and entertainment professionals to dissect the rapidly evolving media panel discussions and keynote sessions, the conference examined how storytelling, publicity, influencer marketing, and digital virality shape today's entertainment economy. Topics spanned from the shifting role of traditional journalism to the rise of creator-led content and the growing demand for credible public relations in artist careers. The agenda was crafted to encourage open dialogue on how entertainment commerce and media now operate in a hybrid digital ecosystem. Adwaith S, founder of CTLG, noted, 'This is an industry that thrives on attention and storytelling, and yet we rarely bring the people behind the headlines, the camera, and the stage into the same room. MediaCon is our attempt to change that.'Organized in collaboration with µLearn UCEK, a student community initiative under the University of Kerala, the event saw strong participation from aspiring professionals. The conference was lauded by senior members of the media and entertainment fraternity, many of whom recognized the need for such targeted platforms. CTLG has confirmed that MediaCon will become a recurring property, with its next edition planned for a college campus in Thiruvananthapuram. With the Indian media and entertainment sector expanding rapidly, MediaCon emerges as a timely, student-facing platform aiming to reshape how stories are told, artists are represented, and young talent connects with industry veterans.
