‘Lethal Weapon' co-stars Mel Gibson, 69, and Danny Glover, 78, reunite ahead of fifth installment
They're not too old for this s–t! 'Lethal Weapon' co-stars Mel Gibson, 69, and Danny Glover, 78, reminded fans of the iconic catchphrase featured in all four films when they reunited over the weekend, 38 years after the first movie launched. Their reunion happened at a fan expo in Philadelphia, where the legendary duo fielded questions about the long-delayed fifth 'Lethal Weapon' installment. Gibson is directing the flick, and Glover agreed to reprise his role as Detective Roger Murtaugh, who famously claimed he was 'too old for this s–t' in each installment. 10 Mel Gibson and Danny Glover reunite at Philadelphia's fan expo. The boys appeared happy to be in each other's company, smiling while speaking to audience members and seemingly mirroring a famous moment from the fourth blockbuster. Glover dressed in a red shirt, black pants, a brown suit jacket and a baseball cap, rocked his grey facial hair and reached over to grab Gibson's hand in what appeared to be an homage to a scene in 1994's 'Lethal Weapon 4.' 10 The pair looked older but acted as if no time had passed. Unfortunately, Gibson must not have gotten the memo because the guys fist-bumped, missing the mark on the iconic reenactment opportunity. The actor-turned-director kept it casual in a black polo shirt, jeans and navy-colored Crocs for the weekend outing. Just like Glover, Gibson, too, sported his grey locks and facial hair, showing just how much time has passed since the franchise's first film in 1987. 10 Danny Glover at the fan expo. News of a 'Lethal Weapon 5' was confirmed by producer Dan Lin in 2020 during a roundtable interview with The Hollywood Reporter. However, Richard Donner, who directed all four 'Lethal Weapon' films, died in July 2021 at age 91. Months later, Gibson shared that Donner had previously requested that the actor direct the project if he wasn't around to do so. 10 Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in 'Lethal Weapon 2.' 10 Danny Glover, Mel Gibson in 1992's 'Lethal Weapon 3.' ©Warner Bros/courtesy Everett Co 10 Danny Glover, Mel Gibson in 1987's 'Lethal Weapon.' And I said, 'Shut up,'' Gibson said in November 2011. 'But he did indeed pass away. But he did ask me to do it and at the time I didn't say anything. He said it to his wife and to the studio and the producer. So I will be directing the fifth one.' In 2022, Gibson expressed he had mixed thoughts about directing 'Lethal Weapon 5.' 'I wish I wasn't directing it. I wish Richard Donner was still here to do it but left us untimely, and he actually asked me, he said, 'Hey kid, if I don't make it, you'll take the reins, huh?' I told him to shut up.' He added, 'I think it's an honour for me to be able to carry the flag for him.' Gibson also shared that he asked Glover for his blessing. 'I called Danny [Glover] up, of course, and said, 'Hey, dude, is it okay with you if I direct this?' to which Glover replied, 'Yeah, let's go.''

Bryce Dallas Howard Shares Touching Tribute to Dad Ron on His 71st Birthday: 'I Love You More Than Words Can Say'
Bryce Dallas Howard is celebrating her dad Ron Howard's birthday with a heartfelt tribute. On Saturday, March 1, Bryce, 43, shared a post on Instagram in honor of her dad turning 71. She included a photo of the father-daughter duo sitting together at a table at a gala, with each of them grinning at the camera as Bryce rested her head on her dad's shoulder. "I love you so much Dad, more than words can say 🥹❤️," the actress captioned the sweet photo. "Happy Birthday @realronhoward!" Last month, the two stars appeared on a panel together at MegaCon in Orlando, Fla., and the Happy Days alum spoke about wanting to protect his daughter from the more complicated aspects of becoming a child actor. Opening up about his early life in Oklahoma, Ron recalled how his own parents — director Rance Howard and actress Jean Speegle — encouraged him to start working as a child actor on shows including The Andy Griffith Show (in which he starred as Opie Taylor). Like himself, Ron said Bryce began to "show a real aptitude" for performing when she was just a child — but he explained that he worried at the time about her falling into his shadow. "She would ask about [acting], and my wife Cheryl and I would say, 'No, we can't let you be a child actor,' " the Oscar winner said. "We didn't have the bandwidth to do what my parents did, which is really supervising... And plus, I felt like that the Opie mythology was a little bit tough, you know, too much to ask a kid to face as a child performer." In December, Bryce reflected on visiting her dad's film sets as a kid during a panel at Steel City Con in Monroeville, Pa., telling the audience that "my childhood was going and spending time with him on set." "For a few reasons," she recalled. "One is I'm the oldest of four, and so I wanted to be on set, and so it just made it easier, one less kid for my mom to be wrangling during the day. So I was really kind of tagging along with him. And also because he was working professionally from the time he was 18 months old, and his parents were in the industry. He just thought it was normal to bring your kid to work every day." Bryce also shared that she would love to work with her dad someday — in a bigger capacity than just visiting his sets or working as an extra. "When I was like 7, I was an extra, but I've never worked with him professionally as an actor, with dialogue and all of that," she told the audience at Steel City Con. "But I want to. I want to very badly. And I would always sort of harass him about it. And now I'm like, 'Let's talk, dude.' " Ron shares Bryce with wife Cheryl Howard, whom he met in high school and married in 1975. They also share three other children: twin daughters Jocelyn and Paige, 40, and son Reed, 37. Read the original article on People

Ron Howard Says Tom Hanks Had to Take Off His Pants in Front of the' Mona Lisa' While Filming 'The Da Vinci Code'
While the 2006 film The Da Vinci Code was a suspenseful mystery, the making of the movie was, at times, more like a comedy. At a Happy Days reunion event held at MegaCon in Orlando on Friday, Feb. 7, director Ron Howard offered an anecdote about the behind-the-scenes of the film and how star Tom Hanks wound up with no pants on in front of the world's most revered work of art. "All of our grip equipment and camera equipment was in the Mona Lisa room," Howard, 70, said of the on-location production at the Louvre in Paris. "And at one point, we were really hurrying, we were behind schedule." He continued: "And Tom Hanks didn't have time to go back to his dressing room to change for the next scene. And so I was giving him some notes about what the next scene was going to be and he was changing his pants in front of the Mona Lisa." This is a moment we have to remember,' " Howard said, noting that many of his films with Hanks — including Splash and Apollo 13 — have taken the actor to strange places. "We've been under the water with the mermaid, we've been weightless with Apollo 13, and now you're pants-less with the Mona Lisa." Related: Director Ron Howard Doesn't 'Go Back and Watch' His Own Movies — and Hasn't Seen Splash in a 'Long Time' (Exclusive) Elsewhere in the panel — which was also attended by Howard's Happy Days castmates Anson Williams and Don Most — Howard spoke about how he initially entered Hollywood as a child actor but quickly realized he was more attracted to the role of the director. "I always liked acting. I always liked being around it," he said. "But very, very early on, I was attracted to the role of the director. And years later, I recognized that I don't have the performer's personality. I wasn't hungry to perform ... I was just dying to be behind the camera." The PEOPLE Puzzler crossword is here! How quickly can you solve it? Play now! Howard has directed Hanks in five films, including three from The Da Vinci Code series: Splash, The Da Vinci Code, Apollo 13, Angels & Demons and Inferno. In a 2024 interview with PEOPLE, the director said he doesn't often reflect on his own portfolio — and hasn't seen one of his most beloved films in some time. "Frankly, I don't go back and watch my movies, so it's been a long time since I've seen [Splash]," Howard said when asked about scenes from the 40-year-old film he feels are underrated. Matthew Lillard Jokes He's Returning to the 'Scream 'Franchise as a 'Fairy Godmother': 'It's Gonna Slay'
It's a scream, baby! On Friday, Feb. 7, Matthew Lillard - who played Stu Macher in the original Scream - officially confirmed he will be re-joining the franchise during an appearance at MegaCon in Orlando. Lillard, 55, was joined by his fellow Scream veteran Skeet Ulrich for a panel at the Orange County Convention Center, where they discussed the franchise and Lillard's upcoming return. "I've been asked literally 1,000 times a day since the first movie ended if I'm coming back. And I'm happy to report I am," Lillard said. As for whether he'd be reprising his role as Stu, the actor joked, "I come back as a fairy godmother. It's gonna slay." Ulrich, 55, then told the crowd, "Matt called me and told me when word came down, and I was so ecstatic for him because anybody who's been to one of these or knows him or has followed him knows how much he has wanted that, so I'm very happy." Related: Skeet Ulrich Says Scream Was 'Almost Shut Down' After Studio Saw the Iconic Drew Barrymore Scene Lillard first appeared to tease his return as villain Stu on Thursday, Jan. 30, posting a video to his Instagram grid that showed a hand writing out one of his character's memorable quotes from near the end of the original Scream: "My mom and dad are gonna be soo mad at me!!" Fans were beside themselves in the comments, with one writing, "Our king returns to the screen as he always said he'd be right back!!!" and another quoting another of Stu's iconic lines: "I'm feeling a little woozy here! 🔪." The actor first appeared in the Wes Craven-directed Scream as high school student Stu, a horror-movie-obsessed friend of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) who is eventually revealed to be one of the killers behind the Ghostface mask, alongside Billy Loomis (Ulrich). In the movie, Billy is killed with a gunshot to the head by Sidney, while Stu seemingly meets his end when she pushes a TV onto his head — all after Billy and Stu stab each other repeatedly, in an attempt to make themselves look like victims. But Stu's death is never confirmed. And while Lillard has not reprised his role as Stu in the nearly three decades since Scream was released, he did appear in cameos in Scream 2 (1997) and the fifth movie, Scream (2022), the former as a partygoer and the latter in a voiceover role. Ulrich, meanwhile, returned as Billy in the fifth film and Scream VI (2023), in the form of visions from his daughter Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera). Related: Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley Are Returning for Scream 7. But What Really Happened to Their Characters? Scream 7 will be helmed by the slasher franchise's creator and original screenwriter Kevin Williamson, marking his first time in the saga's director's seat. Scott Foley — who first appeared in 2000's Scream 3 — and Mark Consuelos have also been confirmed to have joined Scream 7. They join several legacy cast members in the upcoming sequel, including Campbell and Courteney Cox. New additions Isabel May plays the daughter of Campbell's final-girl character Sidney, and Joel McHale joins as Sidney's husband Mark (who is not the same Mark that Patrick Dempsey played in Scream 3). Celeste O'Connor, McKenna Grace, Asa Germann and Sam Rechner are also among the cast, while Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown will reprise their roles from the previous two films, following the exits of Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. Scream 7 hits theaters Feb. 27, 2026. Read the original article on People
