Opendoor Church hosts Easter services at Minges for the first time

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — People gathered and celebrated Easter all across the East, and one local church brought the community together at Minges Coliseum. Instead of hosting multiple services at their different locations like normal, Opendoor Church decided to host everyone under one roof to celebrate Easter. This is the first time in ten years since they've been able to do this. 'The reason we're doing it this year is because we've been multi-service for ten years, and then we opened another campus off of Elm Street, and so this year our senior pastors and elders just felt like this is the year to get everybody together under one roof, and for us that has not happened in ten years,' said Megan Holland, Lead Pastor of Communications at Opendoor Church. Open Door Church ready to host Easter Sunday at Minges Coliseum

GREENVILLE, N.C (WNCT) — Easter is one of the biggest events of the year for local churches, especially those with more than one service time. In an effort to unite the entire congregation on Easter Sunday at 10 a.m., Open Door Church in Winterville is hosting its event in Minges Coliseum. Minges, known as the home of Pirate Basketball, hosts events throughout the year. Especially with the large population at Open Door Church that houses two locations in Pitt County, it's a way to effectively produce an Easter that allows everyone to attend. Lead Pastor of Communications Megan Holland said this isn't about spreading the name of the church. It's all about reconnecting as one community under one roof. 'That hasn't happened for us in over a decade,' she said. 'So, we've been multi-service. We've, you know, gone to multi campus. This past year, we opened another location off Elm Street, Open Door to Immanuel and so, our leadership, our elders really felt like it was super important this year to like, to bring our house back together under one roof at one time.'
