Binghamton, NY June 02, 2025 --( )-- SourceBoard™, a dynamic new platform designed to connect U.S. small business suppliers with procurement opportunities in the defense sector, officially launches today. The platform aims to strengthen America's supply chain by fostering increased engagement between small businesses and defense industry buyers. Founded by Meghan Dougherty, a passionate advocate for small businesses, SourceBoard™ offers a centralized hub where suppliers can browse and bid on procurement requests, and buyers can connect with a vast pool of qualified suppliers. The platform is designed to increase competition, reduce costs, and promote the growth of American small businesses within the defense industrial base. Key Features: Free Account Creation: Suppliers can create an account at no cost, browse opportunities, and only pay when they choose to bid. Buyers can utilize the platform entirely for free. Koffman Innovations: SourceBoard

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Koffman Innovations returns with a new startup that wants to connect defense industry buyers with small American suppliers. Meghan Dougherty is Founder and CEO of SourceBoard, an online marketplace platform that connects buyers in the defense industry with certified American small business suppliers. Both buyers and sellers would need to register for the site, but posting would be free to buyers, while sellers can either pay per bid, or purchase a subscription to make unlimited bids. Dougherty says it's an effort to level the playing field for smaller competitors. 'The large contractors have teams of business development people who can go chase these. And they can chase them for 18 months. That's not how small businesses work. They have limited resources, both human and financial capital, and so they needed a streamlined place where they could find multiple opportunities in one location,' said Dougherty. Dougherty spent ten years working in procurement for a large defense contractor. She says despite some of their disadvantages, smaller suppliers are an integral part of the supply chain. 'It was always so fun for me to see the passion and the eagerness and the way that these small businesses wanted to perform with excellence and do well to highlight their capabilities,' said Dougherty. Dougherty says buyers will be able to post their requests for suppliers or market research and a deadline for responses. Then buyers submit their bids. She's hoping to launch a beta version of the platform in the coming weeks.
