Recently, reports suggested that the actress might be collaborating with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in his upcoming highly anticipated action thriller, King, after a long wait of 19 years. The last time they appeared together was in 2006 for Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the shooting of King has already started at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai. Apart from SRK and Rani, the film also boasts an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Suhana Khan, Saurabh Shukla, Abhay Verma, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and others. The film is expected to be released in the second half of 2026. However, an official confirmation regarding the same from the makers is still awaited. Rani will also be seen in the much-awaited cop thriller film, Mardaani 3, slated to hit the big screens on February 27, 2026. Produced by Yash Raj Films, it will mark Rani's return as the fearless cop, Shivani Shivaji Roy. It is directed by Abhiraj Minawala, who is an associate director on War 2 (featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR) and has also worked on significant projects like Band Baaja Baraat, Sultan and Tiger 3.
