Teacher, married electrician in viral scandal fined for immoral act
MELAKA: A teacher and a married electrician were each fined RM5,000, in default six months' imprisonment, by the Syariah High Court here today after pleading guilty to attempting to commit an immoral act earlier this year.
Syariah judge Mohd Yunus Mohamad Zin handed down the sentence after the duo, who had been at the centre of a viral scandal, admitted to committing the offence on Feb 28.
The offence falls under Section 52 of the Melaka Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1991, which covers attempts to commit sexual misconduct.
