Madisonville Community College to offer EMR certification course

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Madisonville Community College says it is now enrolling for its upcoming Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Certification Course, which is a training opportunity for individuals seeking to build life-saving skills and take the first step toward a career in emergency services. Officials say the course will run Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month of June, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on the college's Health Campus. Taught by Douglas Edwards, an experienced EMT Advanced instructor, the training will focus on providing immediate care in critical situations before EMS personnel arrive. Madisonville PD gets donation of K9 training boxes The MCC says the total cost for the course is $699, which includes the EMR textbook, classroom instruction, hands-on practice and the fee for the student's first attempt at the EMR certification exam. Participants will also receive a custom certificate of completion at the end of the course. The course is open to individuals who are interested in emergency response, public safety or community health. It is ideal for: Firefighters and law enforcement officers School staff, athletic coaches and resource officers Security and industrial safety personnel Anyone preparing for a future EMT or paramedic career I-69 rehab project continues in Hopkins County on May 3 'This course provides essential skills not only for aspiring EMTs but also for those working in public safety, schools, industry, and other environments where rapid medical response can make a critical difference,' said Melanie Tapp, Director of Workforce Solutions at Madisonville Community College. Officials say there are 20 seats available, and early registration is encouraged. Participants are welcome to bring food for scheduled breaks during class sessions.
