At its meeting Tuesday, the Owensboro City Commission took the following actions: • Proclaimed Black History Month. • Reappointed Melinda Schoenwald to the Seven Hills Neighborhood Alliance; appointed Steven May to the Owensboro Sister Cities and Regions board. • Approved on second reading an ordinance amending the 2024-25 city budget and amending Ordinance 7-2024, to provide appropriation for land purchase, transfer funds for ARPA and capital projects, and to receive and appropriate grant funds. • Approved a municipal order adopting municipal order 1-2025, opposing any bills brought fourth during the 2025 General Assembly that would mandate centralized collection of occupational and net profits taxes by the state or by a third party. • Hired Tiffany R. Kruse – Probationary, full-time, non-civil service appointment to telecommunicator with the Police Department, effective Feb. 10, 2025 • Hired Jarrod L.
