City of Erie Streets Dept. introduces ‘pothole hotline' to help clean up winter damage
As temperatures fluctuate creating a freezing and thawing effect, City of Erie officials are asking for help in identifying where significant potholes develop.
The city streets department said they're hoping to be proactive with potholes by having city residents call the following number — 814-870-1340.

Crew members are working all hours of the day to fill potholes with cold packs, acting as a more permanent patch for the hole.
'We're getting more and more as that's happening right now. We'll get a freeze overnight again and then a warm-up, so we'll probably see more and more. We're just trying to stay very proactive on trying to get those while we don't have any snow plowing operations to do right now,' said Jeff Gibbens, City of Erie Streets Department bureau chief.

Gibbens said if you see a bad pothole to report it.
The streets department sends a list out to crews who patch the potholes with the goal of a 24-hour turnaround since they were initially reported.
