El Paso Diocese to host Memorial Day Mass to remember those who gave lives in service
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Catholic Diocese of El Paso will have a special Memorial Day Mass to honor those who died in service to our nation. The Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26 at the Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Road. The Mass will be celebrated in the parking lot in front of the cemetery office. 'This special outdoor liturgy is a longstanding tradition, bringing together families andcommunity members in prayer and remembrance on this National Day of Reflection,' the Diocese said. MISSOURI — Different organizations are holding events in celebration of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 26. On Memorial Day, these events are open to the public across the Ozarks: The Springfield Veterans Cemetery is having their Memorial Day program at 1:30 p.m. at 5201 S Southwood Rd. in Springfield The Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau is holding their Memorial Day Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 2200 W Republic Rd. in Springfield. Ft. Leonard Wood Veterans Cemetary is holding a Memorial Day program at 1 p.m. at 25350 Highway H in Waynesville. The Gardener's Orchard and Bakery are holding a Memorial Day Strawberry Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4455 W Farm Rd 2 in Brighton. The Ebenezer Historical Society has announced they have rescheduled their Memorial Day Parade for Saturday, May 31 at 11:30 a.m. at 1624 W Farm Road 56 in Springfield. Worship news: Pancake breakfast, mass for Pope Leo, golf scramble
Holy Name of Jesus Parish: 133rd Ave. — All are welcome to join the Knights of Columbus for a pancake breakfast after Sunday masses on May 18 in the Sacred Heart Hall at Holy Name of Jesus Parish. There will be regular, blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes. St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church: 101 W Burrell Drive — St. Matthias will have a trivia night beginning at 5 p.m. May 17, with doors opening at 5 p.m. for dinner and trivia beginning at 6 p.m. Tacos will be provided, and babysitting is available with advanced notice. River Pointe Country Club: 6700 Country Club Rd. — Bethel Church will have a Men's Golf Scramble beginning at 12 p.m. May 31 at the River Pointe Country Club.
