Greer Lingle Middle School to reopen by August
ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Greer Lingle Middle School students in Rogers were forced to move to mobile units following damage from the Memorial Day Weekend 2024 tornados.
However, there's good news for students and staff: the school is expected to reopen in time for the next academic year.
Since the storms, Lingle students have been attending classes in mobile units at New Tech High School.
On Jan. 29, Rogers Superintendent Dr. Jeff Perry confirmed that substantial work has been completed at Lingle, and the school will be ready for students by August.

'All the students are going to go back at one time, and we have no concerns that there will be any significant delays to prevent us from doing so,' Dr. Perry said.
Despite ongoing work at the school, Dr. Perry said that the district is confident the building will be ready. As a result, the mobile units at New Tech will be removed this summer to make way for the transition.
Dr. Perry also shared plans to enhance the school's safety and experience for students. A safe room is set to be added to the Fine Arts building to ensure the safety of students and staff during severe weather events.
