She left in a gray Ford F-150 pickup truck with Wisconsin license plates: AMT-3007. Those plates did not match the vehicle. It was a single-vehicle crash. The vehicle went off the road and struck a tree. Police say the vehicle involved, a Toyota Corolla, had been traveling northbound on Lannon Road when the crash occurred. When crews arrived at the scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Briggs was pronounced dead at the scene. What they're saying On Wednesday, students said teachers told them what happened. Students said they are still in disbelief that their friend's life ended so soon. Honoring him, his peers made signs with his jersey number 57, each signing a football helmet. Jaden Firehammer is a junior at Hamilton High School. He's devastated over the loss of Briggs, his longtime friend and football teammate. "We were just talking about how he wanted to be in the NFL, how he wanted to strive for greatness." "Everybody was just shocked. I went out the room. I needed some time," teammate Allen Glover said. "I went down to student services and they got me with a counselor." The Hamilton School District said its student services team will be offering support for students and staff. What we don't know Police said while speed appears to have been a factor, the cause of the crash remains under investigation. One killed in a fiery, single-car crash on Lannon Road in Menomonee Falls, police say

A person died in a single-car accident Tuesday in the village of Menomonee Falls after the car left the roadway and struck a tree, authorities said. At 3:35 p.m., a 2007 Toyota Corolla that had been traveling northbound on Lannon Road was found fully engulfed in flames just east of the roadway, about a quarter-mile north of Lisbon Road, according to a news release from the Menomonee Falls Police Department. The Menomonee Falls Fire Department put out the fire and the driver was found deceased in the car, police said. There were no other passengers in the car. Speed is believed to be a factor in the accident, police said, but the cause of the crash is still under investigation. When reached by phone, Menomonee Falls Police Capt. Matthew Lewek told the Journal Sentinel he could not provide any further information about the driver. The Menomonee Falls police and fire departments were assisted by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office and the Waukesha County Medical Examiner's Office.
