After knocking off West Virginia in two games, the Tigers advanced to their 20th Men's College World Series. They're set to take on the highest remaining seed, the Arkansas Razorbacks, in the first round on Saturday night.

With Super Regionals officially over, the NCAA announced the schedule for the first round of the Men's College World Series on Monday afternoon. The Tigers and Razorbacks, the two top seeds left in the tournament, will be the final game of the first round with the first pitch being thrown at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday.
Here's the full first round schedule:
It seems a bit flawed that the two top remaining seeds have to go head-to-head in the first round, but since they don't reseed once they reach Omaha, that's what has transpired. One of the top-two seeds in MCWS will start with a loss and be on the back foot the rest of the way.

Winning game one will be paramount, which is why I would expect Anthony Eyanson or Kade Anderson to start. If the Tigers can take game one, all they need to do to reach the MCWS finals is win two more games in a row. If they lose game two like they did in 2023, they'll still have to win three in a row, but that's much better than losing game one, where they'd have to win four games in a row to advance to the finals.
This game could go a long ways to deciding who wins the championship. One of the top-two teams left will have an incredibly tough road to win it all while the other will control its own destiny out the gates.
