New media artist Shavonne Wong, known for her work with artificial intelligence models and digital art, was tapped to help bring the brand's make-up artistry into the digital space in its first phygital collection. Wong, 34, a 2020 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia honoree, reinterpreted international artistic director Uchiide's mauve and mint make-up looks on real models, transforming them into lifelike 3D models. Though Wong did not have a hand in selecting colourways, the Shu Uemura team worked closely with the artist to leverage her colour expertise, to bring out a sense of creative optimism for the collection.
