Met Gala 2025 Best Dressed: Zendaya, La La Anthony, Miley Cyrus, Nicole Kidman nail the ‘Superfine Black Style' theme; SRK, Priyanka Chopra, Diljit fail to make it

Met Gala 2025 has come to a wrap, and some big names and gala regulars like Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, and Jennifer Lopez were noticeably missing. However, those who attended were in a race to ace this year's theme, 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.' From Zendaya's gorgeously dandy Louis Vuitton outfit to Diana Ross' dramatic 18-foot train, Vogue's roundup of the best-dressed celebrities spotlights those who not only impressed with their visuals but fully embraced the evening's sartorial spirit. Among the standouts were La La Anthony, Miley Cyrus, Coco Jones, and over 30 others who proved that when it comes to nailing a theme, they understood the assignment. While this year Asian and Indian celebrities also showed dominance, none of them were mentioned in the edition's main list. India was represented this year by Shah Rukh Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, Kiara Advani and Met regular Priyanka Chopra. However, none of them made it to the coveted list. Here's everyone who topped Met Gala 2025's best dressed list. Met gala Met Gala best dressed celebs 2025 For the night, all the co-chairs, including A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, and Lewis Hamilton, passed the 'on-theme mark' with flying colours. However, the one who impressed the most was event host La La Anthony, who, according to the magazine, understood the theme just aptly and grabbed the No. 1 spot on the list. La La arrived in an archival Virgil Abloh, flaunting a split couture half-pants suit and half-gown from the off-white collection. Academy Award-nominated Domingo rocked his custom Valentino, laced with diamonds and crystals, making a clever inclusion of the theme with a blue cape inspired by a church choir robe and 1940s suit looks. Williams wore a custom-designed double-breast suit for himself, embellished and decked in 18k gold and Tiffany & Co. high-end collection. Helen Lasichanh complemented Pharrell Williams in another LV piece. Tyler Mitchell in Wales Bonner was another surprising addition to the best-dressed celeb looks. Kerry Washington in Jonathan Simkhai was truly a sight to behold with the tailored white jacket look and sheer A-line skirt, finishing the look with Chopard diamonds. Zoe Saldaña in Thom Browne's gown, which took almost 10,000 hours of handwork, was worth the hype. Anne Hathaway in Carolina Herrera was probably the most casual fit of the night, yet it was named one of the best, and as the luxury house's creative director puts it, 'It is a moral code to dress well. Whatever your budget, you can wear a white shirt … and be well dressed.' The #MetGala is fashion's biggest night. Natasha Poonawalla at Met Gala 2025: A Couture Manifesto of Power, Heritage, and High Art

Last Updated: Met gala 2025 Red carpet: Natasha Poonawalla redefined Met Gala elegance in Manish Malhotra couture, merging Indian heritage with avant-garde precision. Met Gala Red carpet 2025: In one of the most arresting moments of the 2025 Met Gala, Natasha Poonawalla arrived like a vision sculpted from legacy and imagination—her look a resounding statement of cultural power and couture precision. Dressed in a custom Manish Malhotra ensemble, Poonawalla redefined what it means to channel ancestral opulence through a contemporary lens, aligning seamlessly with this year's theme: Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, which celebrates the aesthetics, resistance, and individuality rooted in Black dandyism. Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania and Lakshmi Lehr, Poonawalla's ensemble was nothing short of a wearable epic. At its heart: a corseted, sculptural silhouette that fused traditional Indian Gara embroidery with the structured grandeur of Western tailoring. The look featured a reengineered fishtail skirt crafted from two antique Gara saris—one over a century old—painstakingly restored from Manish Malhotra's archives. Its hand-embroidered surface unfurled like a tapestry of silken threads, each motif carrying generational wisdom and artisanal precision. Anchoring the ensemble was a black Gara jacket, sharply tailored with bold shoulders and lined in imperial purple—a color historically tied to mysticism and monarchy. Embroidered using the rare ektaar technique, in which a single thread weaves an unbroken design, the jacket told a story of continuity and quiet resistance. Layered beneath was a vintage French lace bralette, scalloped with pearls, and a corset-cummerbund that echoed the restraint and flair central to dandyism. The pièce de résistance, however, was a theatrical lace cravat crafted by Atelier Biser—a ruff collar that framed her face like a Renaissance portrait, adding a note of poetic drama. A single oversized emerald ring on her finger punctuated the look with an unmistakable air of majesty. With sleek hair pulled into a tight bun and makeup evoking porcelain clarity, flushed cheeks, and a commanding eye, Poonawalla exuded controlled magnificence. Manish Malhotra described the ensemble as 'a fusion of armour, artistry, and ancestry," celebrating the rich lineage of Indian couture while embracing the radical elegance of Black dandyism. In his words, Natasha was 'The Empress of Indian Fashion"—a title well earned. Beyond the fabric and form, what made Natasha Poonawalla's appearance truly powerful was its layered symbolism. It was not merely an outfit, but a dialogue—between East and West, past and present, restraint and excess. In reframing the codes of dandyism through Indian craftsmanship and Parsi heritage, Poonawalla didn't just interpret the theme—she transcended it. Her presence on the Met steps this year stands as a testament to how fashion, when wielded with intellect and intent, can serve as both mirror and manifesto. First Published: May 06, 2025, 06:38 IST

Met Gala 2025 LIVE Updates: SRK, Priyanka Chopra Bring India's Star Power To Fashion's Biggest Red Carpet

Met gala 2025 Red carpet Live Updates: It's a historic night for Indian fashion and cinema as Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra are set to walk the Met Gala red carpet, leading what is arguably India's most talked-about contingent yet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The megastars, both global icons in their own right, are bringing a burst of Bollywood to fashion's biggest night. SRK's debut at the Met is already creating waves. He was spotted arriving in NYC with his manager Pooja Dadlani and is expected to wear a regal creation by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, marking a grand entry in quintessential Indian style. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra, who has turned heads at the Met in Ralph Lauren, Dior, and Valentino in previous years, is returning for her fifth appearance. This year, she's reportedly set to stun in Balmain with statement pieces from Bulgari. Whether Nick Jonas will walk beside her remains to be seen, but excitement is high. Joining the power-packed Indian line-up is actress Kiara Advani, who will also be making her Met debut. The actress, currently expecting her first child with husband Sidharth Malhotra, teased her fans with a glimpse of a booklet titled The Met Gala. She is reportedly donning a dramatic ensemble by avant-garde designer Gaurav Gupta, promising a sculptural fashion moment. Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has been keeping things low-key but dropped a not-so-subtle Instagram hint: 'First Time,' paired with an hourglass emoji and the track 'Met Gala' by Gunna. Fans are hoping for a surprise moment on the steps. Fashion icon Natasha Poonawalla, philanthropist Mona Patel, and business heiress Isha Ambani—who left jaws dropping in a Rahul Mishra couture look last year—are all expected to walk tonight. With the theme 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style' and the dress code 'Tailored For You', this year's Met promises bold suiting, couture risks and cultural pride. And tonight, India is showing up in full style force. Stay tuned for every look, moment and desi takeover from the Met steps, live from New York.
