Is Metroid Prime 4 coming to Nintendo Switch 1? Here's all you need to know about Samus Aran's new adventure
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is one of Nintendo's most awaited games. After nearly a decade of waiting, the game is finally coming in 2025. But with the Switch 2 already here, many Nintendo users have been wondering if they'll need to upgrade to play Samus Aran's next adventure. Can you play Metroid Prime 4 on Nintendo Switch 1? Yes, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be playable on the original Nintendo Switch. Nintendo has officially confirmed that players won't need the new Switch 2 to experience the game. Switch 1 users will get the full story, gameplay, and features just like on the newer console. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond screenshots What's the difference between Metroid Prime 4 on Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2? The main difference is in graphics and performance. The Switch 2 version features sharper visuals with better texture filtering, especially for distant objects in the environment. Players have also noted smoother frame rates on the newer console, which enhances combat and movement. Up close, textures look similar on both devices. But the Switch 2 brings more detailed backgrounds and improved fluidity overall. The game might also feel better with the new console's controls, but full details will be clearer once Nintendo shares more footage and demos. Switch 1 owners can still enjoy the complete experience, though Switch 2 users will notice visual upgrades and smoother gameplay. What is Metroid Prime 4 about? Metroid Prime 4: Beyond continues Samus Aran's story in a first-person action adventure. The game promises classic Metroidvania elements like exploration, backtracking, and puzzle-solving, all wrapped in a sci-fi setting. Players will once again navigate mysterious planets, face alien threats, and upgrade Samus' abilities to uncover the secrets of the galaxy.

Games Inbox: What is the next big game for Nintendo Switch 2?
The Friday letters page hopes for the industry's sake that EA Sports FC 26 sells well, as one reader wonders who else will be in the Zelda movie. To join in with the discussions yourself email gamecentral@ Mystery follow-up Nice review of Donkey Kong Bananza, GC. It's interesting to me that it's another good Nintendo game but one which, like Mario Kart World, features just enough problems for it to be kind of mid-tier by their standards. I'm sure other companies would love if their flawed efforts were getting a 9/10 but that's just the legacy that Nintendo has at this point. Either way, we're still at the 'it was originally made for the previous console' stage of the generation, which all consoles go through. I think normally it's about two years in before we start to see ones made only with the current console in mind. I don't know if I'll wait that long before getting a Switch 2, but I'm not currently tempted this year. More because of the lack of games rather than these first two not being top tier. So, the question is what next? Metroid Prime 4 is even less a Switch 2 game than the first two so what comes after that? My heart tells me that it'll be Animal Crossing, as a counterpoint to the hardcore Metroid Prime 4, but who can ever say with Nintendo. I'd be most pleased with a brand new IP but that's even harder to try and predict. It's exciting but also frustrating because I wouldn't bet on finding out this year. Onibee The Legend of Bugsy Malone Although it's in keeping with a lot of the games I am surprised at just how young and inexperienced the Link and Zelda actors are. I can only hope the casting director knows that they're doing, because that is a hell of a gamble straight from the start. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. It makes me wonder who the older characters are going to be in the film? Ganondorf will obviously be an adult man, but will Impa be an old granny or the sort of peak fitness version we've seen before? Since Link and Zelda don't seem to be based on Breath Of The Wild I'm going to guess a younger Impa, but who else? Makes me wonder if the champions will be in it, as they were all kind of peak adults. The film will probably make up some new characters, because the series doesn't have a lot of recurring ones. Someone like Lineback or Midna would be cool, but that seems more like something to keep back for a sequel. Like you said, there's so much that could go wrong with this, but let's see what happens. Focus Lesser of two evils Look like EA is pretty worried about EA Sports FC 26 doing well. I remember a time when I have cheered on the idea of them going under (not that I think they will, but bear with me). Apart from me feeling worse nowadays, about the idea of wishing thousands of people to loose their job, at least EA isn't owned by someone else. I don't like much of what they do but it's not like I haven't enjoyed EA games in the past, especially the Star Wars stuff, so let's not wish the games industry to become even smaller and even more under the shadow of Microsoft – a company that has shown it will turn its back on anything or anyone for the smallest amount of profit. On one hand it doesn't bother me whether EA Sports FC 26 is a hit or not, because I'll never buy it. But on the other hand I hope it does well because EA going under isn't good for anyone, except for even bigger corporations than them. Combi Email your comments to: gamecentral@ Monkey money madness The reviews are really difficult to ignore for Donkey Kong Bananza. I'm glad it's doing well critically but I don't think I'll be buying the game anytime soon. £65 for the physical cart is just too much to justify, especially when Nintendo games never go on sale. I bought Cyberpunk 2077 for £54 at Switch 2 launch because of a Currys deal, so maybe that's the sweet spot for me (or launch madness). Most Switch games had an RRP of £50 but sold for £40 even at launch. It's odd that retailers aren't continually this strategy. Maybe things will start to settle soon, because anything over £50 feels too much at the minute. Thanks for giving me the space to rant. goldbricks23 (NN ID) Shots fired So upsetting to read about developers being laid off in favour of AI. I know it's only Candy Crush but you don't exactly have to be paranoid to imagine that this is just the thin end of the wedge. I can only hope that something is done to stop the rot before all these talented people leave the games industry forever. Who wants to work for a company for years only to be laid off, just so an AI can plagiarise your work afterwards. Laddie Ubisoft vs. ex-Ubisoft So I've sold Assassin's Creed Shadows to CeX. Because, truthfully, it's just a painfully mediocre title that somehow makes exploration of feudal Japan immensely unenticing, which is quite the task to pull off. I'll say that during my time with the game, I completed three castles as Naoe that looked the same, played the same, and led to a sense of lethargic quality. The stealth is excellent, it truly gave me a sense of shinobi arts. How is it that even combat is painfully hollow and somehow reminds me of Valhalla's shortcomings? The story is indeed rather milquetoast. I certainly lack the ability to even forge a reason as to why I should care for this narrative. The game looks truly stunning. However, when your points of interest boil down to shrines and guarded castles it feels like the depth of an ocean and width of a pool. It's an improvement on Valhalla, in many ways but a step down from Odyssey in other ways. Yasuke, in my opinion, is the most forgettable, bland, and unmemorable protagonist since Shay from Assassin's Creed Rogue. He's a tank. That's it. That's his unique selling point. Thankfully however, I also brought another title alongside Shadows. A title that I also bought on PC. A title that is magnificent from the menu screen. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I own it twice. Because it deserves to be owned twice. Assassin's Creed Hexe is intriguing but my expectations are non-existent. When Ubisoft churn out countless disappointing checkmark titles, such as Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora and Assassin's Creed Shadows, what hope does a narrative focused on witches stand? Especially when their former employees have crafted a title that Ubisoft will forever lack the talent, passion, heart, and capacity for. I pray for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to win Game Of The Year in December. It's a marvellous achievement for Sandfall and more than worthy enough to stand alongside Atlus' Persona series and Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3. Shahzaib Sadiq Instant U-turn To the person who wrote in the other day about not being able to turn well in Mario Kart battle mode. You can hold A and B together in a direction and hold the stick in any direction, left or right. I do it all the time in the free roam, I'm not a battle mode player but it works the same. Good luck. If you knew it already and still are complaining then even better luck. Nick The Greek Big blue Boy Scout I saw the new Superman movie on its release date and absolutely loved it. If I had to have a favourite superhero it would be Superman, then Batman as my next, and Spider-Man as my third. I am also talking about childhood heroes here and being fundamental to my younger memories watching the animated versions for each, as well as the classic Michael Keaton and Christopher Reeve live action movies. Thinking about what GC viewers mentioned about how moral code is associated with some heroes more than others, I'd definitely say the above mentioned three are definitely on the true good side. Their alter egos are also wholesome, as a high-powered businessman and philanthropist, a newspaper journalist, and an average or genius college kid. Regarding the games that could be created with these characters, especially Superman and Batman, I felt Arkham Asylum or City showed a good detective variant of gameplay, along with the stealth and action of Batman. I feel that this could be done for Clark Kent and Lois Lane doing their journalism job, investigating crimes or ill doings and being down to earth and properly solving the situation as detectives. Superman comes into his own when scenarios brings in powerful supervillains and ultra despicable normal humans, all doing their nefarious deeds. Of course, then the glasses come off, like the business suit gets changed for armoured body protection and the college clothes get exchanged for the web-slinging bodysuit for high octane aerial movement and combat. With natural abilities so far above our terrestrial heroes, Superman would possibly need a bigger area and more depth in regards to making the gameplay utilise the Man of Steel's signature moves and powers, like speed, heat ray blasts, X-ray vision and extraterrestrial ultra strength, which our yellow sun gives him. In other words, it's probably too difficult to give Superman a proper go at a gaming franchise or single game and we'll just see him as a watered down Kryptonian in a side view beat 'em-up or multiplayer rivals type action game. Which is a shame as the recent movie has everything from honouring the original 70s classics and the newer world of DC cinema and comics. Basically, it was near perfect and can't wait to see more of James Gunn's future endeavours into this new remake of my favourite superhero of all time. Alucard Inbox also-rans I didn't even know there was a FIFA curse. I'd heard of the Madden curse, despite knowing nothing about the sport, so I'm going to guess that Bellingham and Musiala will live through this. Rich I really hope the people that have done RoboCop: Rogue City get to do RoboCop Vs. Terminator. To see that come back after all these years would be so funny to me and I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I've tracked Nintendo Switch Amazon Prime Day deals for 8 years. Here are the 22 best right now
It's a great time to score some Nintendo Switch Prime Day deals, whether you managed to get your hands on an elusive Nintendo Switch 2 or you're still fleshing out your library on your original Switch, Switch OLED or Switch Lite. As usual, a ton of Switch games and accessories are on sale for Amazon's massive shopping event, to the point where it can be hard to tell what's actually worth picking up. Fortunately, I've been tracking Amazon deals on Nintendo's beloved console for as long as I've been gaming on it (eight years, to be exact), and I'm here to make sure you get right to the good stuff. From discounts on some all-time great Nintendo Switch games to accessories I've sworn by for years — not to mention the ever-rare Switch console sale — here are the Prime Day deals you should be shopping right now. Keep checking back in throughout the week, as we've seen deals disappear and return in the first days of this savings week. Nintendo Switch OLED If you're tired of waiting for the next Nintendo Switch 2 restock — or you just never jumped on the Switch train — the Switch OLED is still a fantastic console in 2025. Its OLED screen is more vibrant than even the Switch 2 display, and it'll still get plenty of big upcoming Nintendo games like Metroid Prime 4. The current discount isn't huge, but you do save a few bucks off the list our review MagicFiber Microfiber Cleaning Cloths, 6-Pack These microfiber cloths have been my go-to for keeping my Switch (and just about every other screen I own) free of smudges. Every MagicFiber bundle is on sale right now; I recommend at least going with this six-pack that's at its lowest price. Hori D-Pad Controller My all-time favorite Switch accessory, the Hori D-Pad Controller, gives you a proper directional pad for playing fighting games and platformers with precision on the go. I'm desperately awaiting a Switch 2 version, but for folks still rocking the original model, this is a great cheap pickup. PowerA Nintendo Switch Wired Controller PowerA makes some of our favorite Switch accessories, and this officially licensed wired controller is an absolute bargain at this close-to-lowest price. It's perfect if you need a spare gamepad for multiplayer sessions, and it'll work with both your Switch and Switch 2. CRKD Nitro Deck We really dug the Nitro Deck's ability to transform your Switch into a bigger, more ergonomic handheld. It's back to its lowest price ever for Prime Day, making it an affordable way to hold yourself over until you finally get a Switch 2. Read our review PowerA Protection Case for Nintendo Switch PowerA knows how to make a great case, and this slim sleeve gives you space for nine game cards and plenty of accessories within one of my favorite designs the company offers. It's just two bucks shy of its lowest-ever price right now. PowerA Accessory Bundle You likely won't find a better (or more adorable) value for OG Switch accessories than this PowerA bundle, which gets you a controller, a case and a Joy-Con grip that are all decked out in cute pastel Pokémon themes. SanDisk 256GB MicroSDXC Card Licensed for Nintendo Switch Every Switch owner should have a microSD card, given how quickly digital games can eat up your storage. SanDisk makes my favorite ones, and this model gets you a generous 256GB of extra space, complete with some cute Pikachu artwork for a good price. Just note that this card will not work on your Switch 2; you'll need a pricier microSD Express card for expanding storage on Nintendo's new console. SanDisk 256GB Ultra MicroSDXC Card Though it isn't as cute, penny-pinchers will prefer this microSD card, which offers the same amount of storage at a more affordable price. At $17, it's just a few bucks shy of the lowest price we've seen. Savage Raven by Skull & Co. Thumb Grips for Nintendo Switch 2 These thumb grips haven't left my Switch 2 from the moment I put them on, thanks to an incredibly tactile and secure grip that lets me drift around Mario Kart World with precision. PowerA Wireless GameCube-Style Controller for Nintendo Switch You don't have to buy Nintendo's $60 GameCube controller to play the Switch 2's library of GameCube classics such as Soul Calibur 2 and F-Zero GX the way they were meant to be played. This PowerA controller gets you a similar design for a fraction of the price, and it'll work with both your Switch and Switch 2. Logitech C920x HD Pro Webcam The Switch 2 lets you video chat with friends via any USB webcam of your choosing, and this is the best one for the price. It's cheaper and more versatile than Nintendo's own camera, and it gets you much sharper 1080p video. Read our review Super Mario Odyssey Super Mario Odyssey is unquestionably one of the best Nintendo Switch games of all time and a must-play for anyone who's into things like fun and joy. We've seen it discounted more in the past, but it's still a great game for this current on-sale price, especially now that it's gotten a nice performance update for the Switch 2. Make sure you're buying the digital version at Target to get the sale pricing. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Tears of the Kingdom is up there with Super Mario Odyssey in the pantheon of best Switch games, improving upon previous Zelda games with a breathtaking, massive world. At $58, the game has hit its lowest price ever, though it's likely to sell out. Balatro Special Edition If you've ever wanted to try Balatro — a poker-like game that's impossible to put down — now is the time. It hasn't been this cheap since late 2024, and at just $20, it's way cheaper than most our review Splatoon 3 One of the Switch's absolute best multiplayer games (and one I personally love playing with CNN Underscored copy chief Daniel Toy), this vibrant ink-blasting shooter is available at a great price right now. It's even updated for Switch 2 for smoother squid kid gameplay. Read our review Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bundle The colorful, cozy life simulator that got many of us through the pandemic is still a blast in 2025, and this digital bundle gets you both the base game and the Happy Home Paradise expansion at a big discount. Read our review Super Mario 3D World and Bowser's Fury As well deserved as the hype around Odyssey is, this Mario game — which delivers a beautiful four-player hybrid of 2D and 3D Mario gameplay — remains one of my favorites in the franchise. The Bowser's Fury expansion essentially adds an entire second game to the mix, and the whole thing has been updated for Switch 2 with better performance and GameShare support so you can more easily play with friends. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom An underrated gem, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom takes the classic top-down Zelda formula and flips it on its head by finally letting you play as the series' titular princess with her own unique range of abilities. It's also one of many Nintendo games that's gotten enhanced for the Switch 2. Super Mario Bros. Wonder Another one of my all-time favorite Mario games, Super Mario Bros. Wonder puts a delightfully inventive spin on the series' classic 2D side-scrolling formula. It's a few bucks shy of its best-ever price right now. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge This throwback TMNT side-scroller will bring glee to every retro gaming enthusiast out there looking to replicate the classic arcade vibes. We've only seen this game's price go this low once before, last Prime Day. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics I don't think there's a single game I logged more hours in last year than this collection, which brings together the entire Marvel vs. Capcom franchise in all its chaotic comic book combat glory. It's a must for both Marvel fans and fighting-game enthusiasts, especially at this lowest-ever price. While this current batch of Prime Day Switch deals is relatively modest, they include a few lowest or close-to-lowest prices on some of the best accessories and games for the system. Deals on Nintendo hardware are especially rare, so we're happy to also see a discount on the excellent Nintendo Switch OLED. And with Nintendo Switch 2 games and accessories only getting more expensive, this is a great chance to stock up on some great backwards-compatible titles and gear for your new console. Speaking of which, the deals we're seeing on Nintendo Switch games are especially strong, with some of our personal all-time favorites available for some of their best prices yet. CNN Underscored has a team of writers and editors who have many years of experience testing, researching and recommending products, and they ensure each article is carefully edited and products are properly vetted. Senior tech editor Mike Andronico has been covering gaming for more than a decade and has put nearly as many hours into tracking Nintendo Switch deals as he has into playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. (Spoiler: It's a lot.)

Games Inbox: Has the Nintendo Switch 2 been a disappointment?
The Thursday letters page thinks that the power of a console has become irrelevant, as one middle-aged reader loses their enthusiasm for gaming. To join in with the discussions yourself email gamecentral@ Post-launch verdict After having a few weeks to think about it, I'm afraid to say that I'm pretty disappointed with the Switch 2. Or rather, I am impressed by the console itself, and have no complaints about that, but everything else connected to it seems so low effort. Mario Kart World is a good game, but the free roam stuff is pretty bad and whether Nintendo has more planned for it or not, they haven't said anything so that's hardly an excuse. The real problem is there's literally nothing else going on with the console, except for Donkey Kong next month. The only exciting game after that is Metroid Prime 4, which is a Switch 1 game that was going to come out this year whether the Switch 2 was out or not. We know nothing of their future plans for any of their big franchise (even the Splatoon game was just a spin-off) and incredibly there's no sign of a new Mario game or any hope for more Zelda this decade. Given how time and goodwill was on Nintendo's side with this, they really have fumbled the ball. Focus Do it yourself I agree with readers complaining that the games industry is in a very dark place at the moment, with constant layoffs and another new round looming at Xbox. The only positive I can hope for from this is if it pushes more developers towards setting up their own indie studios and kissing goodbye to the traditional publisher system. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. You often hear about ultra low budget indie games selling in the multiple millions and yet AAA games, that must've cost 100 times more to make, still only sell around the same amount. Admittedly, indie games are almost always cheaper but even so, the profits on them must be enormous. Sure, you won't be working with state of the art graphics anymore, but surely that's a small price to pay for owning everything yourself, getting all the money, and getting to make whatever you want. Frampton Faux-Zero I'm not a massive WipEout fan but I thought I'd give Fast Fusion a go on Switch 2, as it was only £15, and I've been amazed by it. It looks fantastic and plays great, with some great track design. In fact, I think it looks better that a lot of games on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. There's an update this week as well, that's going to add more tracks and features. Only thing missing is online play, but the four player splitscreen is great. Also, there is a GameShare option that allows my daughter to play on her original Switch with me and I can't believe how good it works, seeing the game run on her Switch is like magic. More games need to add this feature. So, for £15 this is a steal, I look forward to what the devs do next. Rob Email your comments to: gamecentral@ Games before merch I see the new Donkey Kong and Pauline amiibo is in stock to pre-order on Nintendo Store UK for £16.99. I am tempted to buy it but I was planning to buy a new gaming PC in August and a deluxe edition of Metal Gear Solid Delta for PlayStation 5, so will have to put it on my wishlist. Andrew J. PS: I have just heard about this game, but I don't remember GameCentral reviewing it, it is called BZZZT. It's a platformer from 2023 and it looks amazing and has got a very positive rating on Steam. What is GameCentral's opinion of it? GC: We've never heard of it before, but it looks a lot like Super Meat Boy. Death stranded I'm not sure how big a franchise Death Stranding is but I notice no one around here has been talking about it and that seems to follow for everywhere else I see online. Maybe the algorithm knows I don't like it, but it looks like a really expensive game, especially with all those Hollywood actors in it, but I'm really not sure how it's making its money back. Like you say, I admire Hideo Kojma's ability to talk people into funding him, and then making whatever he wants, but at some point aren't these same people going to want a return on their investment? If a sequel to Death Stranding was meant to be a surefire hit I think there's going to be some disappointment… Lambo Unlimited power I think the concept of the power of a console (or a PC GPU for that matter) has shifted massively since the release of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. PlayStation recognised this with PS5 Pro and dipped their toe in the water with AI upscaling, but being tied to AMD meant they had to (co-?) develop their own hardware-accelerated algorithm in PSSR, which inevitably led to some teething issues. Now that FSR 4 is available (and may even be implemented on PS5 Pro in future) I expect this to be a key feature of both the PlayStation 6 and the Windows NeXtbox One. While AMD still lag behind Nvidia in this regard, FSR 4 is a huge step-up in image quality compared to what's available on PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X, and should have a similar impact to DLSS 3/4 on Switch 2: achieving much better image quality over the current generation consoles even if the GPU and CPU upgrades seem fairly modest on paper. Throw in hardware-accelerated ray tracing support and maybe even frame generation and we'll get some very capable consoles which hopefully won't break the bank. But probably will. Magnumstache PS: Quite interested in Tempest Rising – PC only at the moment but looks like a fun throwback real-time strategy, released back in April. Infinite Pass I was receiving Game Pass for free once upon a time, I think I concluded that it was an ex-girlfriend who liked her choice games and so created her own profile on my Xbox. When we separated a good while later she got her own Xbox and Game Pass, so I assumed it was still tied to the account she had on my Xbone. I only realised when my subscription ran out, but I kept receiving it! Out of guilt I had to resubscribe and strangely it didn't work on the Xbox Series X, but for all I know it could still be running on the Xbone. big boy bent Gaming midlife crisis I wrote in a few weeks back about how good the Sony State of Play amazed me. I'm a VVVVV long time reader, since before you became Digitiser (there was something else before that.) I'm 50 and have been gaming since I got an Atari 2600 for Xmas in 1980. You wouldn't believe how games have progressed since Adventure, Pac-Man, and Asteroids. Graphics and worlds are so amazing you couldn't wish for anything else but I now find myself in a bit of a gaming rut, in that everything that is made has a sword or gun or whatever else is the best method of killing something or someone, with super duper million pound graphics. What has happened to the creative ingenuity of our past time? Why is it that everything that's released I have to slaughter something? Fetch this, get that, and hope I don't get killed? I know Nintendo do cutsey have-fun games but where has this all gone on the other consoles? I've looked and looked at indie games but nothing takes my fancy; Concrete Genie, walking simulators?! (I'll go for a walk myself!). The amazing ideas that were around during the Amiga/Atari ST time have been sidelined for blow anything up or footy or racing, that's it. This drive for fab graphics and a myriad of different ways of making something die or drive here and do this is all a bit too much. I know profit margins and risk aversion is at play, but come on, stop releasing the same sort of stuff all the time and let's have a bit of imagination (even though it don't sell). Rant over, just after 40 odd years of making games we only now get the same four or five genres?! Sad times from what we all imagined as kids. Indiegaz (PSN ID) GC: Concrete Genie was six years ago and walking sim is a derogatory term for games with no action elements, they're not literally about walking. Based on your comments, we'd recommend indie games such as the excellent Blue Prince or Citizen Sleeper 2. Inbox also-ransSo happy to see Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 do well. It really is the feel good success story of the year and well deserved too. Benson Time Crisis? Now there's a name I haven't heard in a very long time. Metroid Prime 4 advert on London tube confuses everyone with 'out now' sticker
An advert for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond claims it has already been released, fuelling hope for a surprise announcement. The Nintendo Switch 2 launch line-up might be lacking in first party titles, but the roadmap for the rest of the year could still make up for it. Donkey Kong Bananza is set to launch next month, while Kirby Air Riders, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond are all slated for 2025. However, the latter, which is a cross-gen release with the original Switch, still doesn't have a release date. For anyone anticipating Samus Aran's next gallivant through space, a new poster on the London Underground might just give you a jump scare. At the Oxford Circus station, an advert for Metroid Prime 4 is emblazoned with an 'out now' sticker – despite the fact it most definitely isn't. This has prompted wild speculation of an imminent shadow drop, and while we all like to dream, this is much more likely to just be an unfortunate mistake than a secret hint. The advert is part of a string of Switch 2 adverts across the tube station, alongside Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. The latter has the correct release date of July 17, while Mario Kart World has the same 'out now' sticker in the exact same position as on Metroid Prime 4's poster, suggesting it could be a copy and paste error. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. Even if a shadow drop is unlikely, the poster does imply the game will be released over the summer (and that those not mentioned, such as Hyrule Warriors, are later in the year). The only other game advertised is Super Mario Party Jamboree TV, which is set to be released on July 27, so there's a chance Metroid could land in August. More Trending Metroid Prime 4 is set to launch on the original Switch as well as the Switch 2, but this advert doesn't make any mention of that fact. The upgraded Switch 2 edition will have mouse controls, HDR support, 4K resolution when docked, and run up to 120fps. It's unclear when Nintendo could announce the game's release date, but considering it recently just unveiled a Splatoon spin-off out of the blue, via its Nintendo Today! app, it could happen at any moment. Earlier this week, Nintendo dedicated an entire Direct presentation to Donkey Kong Bananza, where it revealed a young Pauline, new costumes, and a mode inspired by Mario Paint.
