5 juveniles arrested after allegedly breaking into cars, running from officers

Five juveniles were arrested after police said they were trying to break into cars in a Miami Township neighborhood. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] On May 17, around 3 a.m., officers were called to the area of Nesting Drive and Turtledove Way for juveniles trying to break into vehicles. When officers arrived on the scene, they found five juveniles who matched the descriptions given to them. Four were taken into custody, the fifth juvenile was later identified. 'Please remember to lock your car doors and report any suspicious behavior,' the Miami Township Police Department wrote on social media. MIAMI TWP., Ohio (WDTN) — One person was arrested after a domestic violence call left three first responders injured. The Miami Township Police Department reports officers and firefighters were sent out to the Autumn Woods Apartment Complex off of Byers Road for a report of domestic violence. This occurred on Tuesday, April 22. Beavercreek PD catching more thieves with help from social media While investigating on scene, officers determined a suspect to have committed a domestic violence offense, and when they notified him of his arrest, he began to 'violently assault them,' according to police. Two officers were reportedly injured before a Taser was deployed and the suspect was placed in handcuffs. Police say the suspect continued to resist arrest and fight officers while being escorted outside, where he injured one of the firefighters present. The suspect was taken to the Montgomery County Jail, on charges of Felonious Assault on a Police Officer, Aggravated Assault on a Firefighter, Domestic Violence, Strangulation, Obstructing Justice and Resisting Arrest. A man is in jail after he injured two police officers and one firefighter while being arrested in Miami Township on Tuesday. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Miami Township police responded to initial reports of domestic violence at the Autumn Woods Apartments off Byers Road, according to a spokesperson with the Miami Township Police Department. Jones is accused of 'violently' assaulting officers while they were trying to arrest him, according to the spokesperson. Two Miami Township police officers were injured. The spokesperson said officers used a taser to help take Jones into custody. Jones reportedly kept fighting as police took him out of the apartment. One firefighter was injured as the fight continued outside, according to the spokesperson. Jones was booked into the Montgomery County Jail a short time later. The spokesperson said he was charged with two counts of felonious assault on a police officer, one count of aggravated assault on a firefighter, domestic violence, strangulation, obstructing justice and resisting arrest. The two police officers and firefighters are recovering from their injuries. News Center 7 will continue to follow this story. A woman wanted in four different jurisdictions was arrested in Miami Township over the weekend. Officers are looking for a suspect who is accused of armed carjacking, according to the Miami Township Police Department. At the time of the incident, he was seen on doorbell camera footage wearing a pink sweatshirt and black pants, according to police. Officers believe the suspect may have left the area of Sagebrook in a blue Chevy Cruze. The victim of the carjacking was unharmed, police say.
