Gawai Kitai Ngiling Bidai 2025 Expected To Draw About10,000 Visitors In Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM, June 14 (Bernama) -- About 10,000 visitors are expected to enliven the Gawai Kitai Ngiling Bidai 2025 or Hari Gawai 2025 celebration to be held on June 28 at D'Network@ Setia Alam Lake here. The chairman of the programme's organising committee, Michael Oridecth Dures, said that the Sarawak cultural celebration aims, among other things, to further introduce the uniqueness of the Dayak, Bidayuh, Iban, Hulu and other ethnic groups. He said the programme, to be held for the first time in the Peninsula, was a collaboration between MOD Solutions Enterprise and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC). 'We welcome the public to participate in the Gawai Kitai Ngiling Bilai celebration, which is being held for the first time in the Peninsula. "Let us together celebrate the diversity of cultures, especially those in Sarawak, which are among the pillars of the nation's strength," he said at a press conference for the Gawai Kitai Ngiling Bidai 2025 celebration in Setia Alam here today. Michael said the Hari Gawai celebration is also one of the platforms to introduce the uniqueness of Sarawak to the local community as well as to tourists in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026). Meanwhile, he said this programme is among his team's efforts in supporting the Visit Selangor Year 2025, organised by the Selangor government. 'Among the interesting activities to be held are a cultural workshop and traditional Sarawak music including sapa, as well as the sale of various ethnic foods flown in from the Land of the Hornbills. "Therefore, we invite and welcome everyone to come and experience the uniqueness, friendliness, and hospitality of the people of Sarawak, and take home valuable experiences," he added.
